The ATLAS R-ONE is the newest addition to the Aero Precision Handguard lineup. Machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum, the R-ONE line of handguards are designed with size and weight in mind, providing the perfect handguard for your lightweight build. Our proprietary ATLAS attachment system is a durable and dependable mounting platform, maintaining a slim profile while still providing the strength and stability customers have grown to love from Aero Precision handguards.

The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation.

All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard. Lightweight By Design.

ATLAS Handguards are designed to match seamlessly with our M4E1 Threaded Upper Receivers. Additionally, they are compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 upper receivers as well. However, they may not be compatible with billet upper receivers due to indexing tabs. Save when you buy them as a combo.

Great fit and finish

Install was easy and it seems to hold well. Only complaint was the barrel nut is a little tight on tolerance when indexing with the gas tube but it still fits. Also one of the most flawless cerakote applications I've received.

Fairly easy installation. It’s a little tricky to get perfectly lined up at first but once you do it feels pretty solid. The qd points are aluminum so I would recommend getting some Magpul steel Mlok ones. Overall I’m happy with the purchase.

Atlas R-One GtG

I bought two handguards, one 15” and one 12.3”. They’re both flawless, excellent machining quality, no burrs or roughness, straight and symmetric cuts and lines, and an overall solid feel. The barrel nut and hardware fits tight and clean. I’ve always had excellent results with Aero receivers and these should be a good match for this new build. Packaging is solid, foam inserts and a new clean product box, something I’ve always appreciated about Aero components they care about the products you get.

Nice Lighweight Design

I like the design of these. The fastner design fits cleanly. I have a few of these a no issues yet. The provided tool and shims for the barrel nut work well with 1/2 in torque wrench and were easy to align .
