Awesome Power
This was my first build in a big bore AR. It finally hit me, why dont I stop building these in 5.56 and build one I can take into the Ohio deer woods! I built this upper almost exclusively of Brownells parts. I did not want to dremel the ejection port of a standard upper, so I took a chance and ordered the .458 SOCOM upper. Part 100-024-853. Perfect! The only reason I gave four stars is muzzle brake is not tightened down and timed to barrel. I had to find and order 11/16 I.D. muzzle shims.(Badger Industies) After assembly I pulled a red dot off another firearm, and mounted up top. At 60 yds the first two shots down pipe were 3 inches low and touching. If your still reading, STOP and order now. You will love the BIG GUN. No more 5.56 plinking. The Thumper lives!
