Painted finish made unusable as is
Bought to mount long range scope. Intending on lapping for alignment. The paint is so thick it made tightening rings to rail not feel right. Cannot lap thru the paint so i sandblasted all paint off and cold blued them. Now they are pretty good rings and lapped in very quickly. Advice is to not take a decent machined ring and ruin with thick paint. Or perhaps they were trying to hide huge machining burrs.
