Great quality/poor function mileage may
Purchased for an arsenal sam7r milled reciever ak47.This scope mount has impeccable quality and construction...its not to bulky on the rifle and sits low on the reciever.the qd mount is solid, rigid, and a breeze to adjust to the point that i was able to open and close the lever with a pinky nail and still no slop in the mount...but...the picatinny rail was off center with my irons and theres no way to adjust it...ill be trying out the arsenal sm13 next with fingers crossed but i wouldnt discount this mount for most ak variants given the quality and reviews that ive seen for it

Doesn't fit stamped DDI AK
Pros -Works -Solidly built Cons -Doesn't fit the rifle I own, DDI Stamped AK47. The rail mount is to the right of center, relative to the bore axis.

Good Mount
I chose this mount because I intend to mount a red dot sight on my SGL 21-61 and wanted the function of a side mount over other systems. When I received this mount the first time, the locking lever and hardware were missing. I returned it to Brownells and they promptly exchanged it for a new one. It is a well made, high quality mount, but on the Saiga receiver the mount cants to the right as well as touching the receiver cover on the left side. I don't believe that this is MI's fault as I also purchased a high quality mount made by a different manufacturer, and it does the same thing, cants to the right. Given that AKs from different countries (or even different factories in the same country) can vary widely in their dimensions, I'd say the problem is with the rifle. So this is a well made mount, but not for an SGL 21-61 with the Saiga receiver (unless you don't mind putting shims under the mount).
