Magpul AK Quality Mags
I started with a couple of these and eventually switched to these over the steel mags cause they are much lighter for one and price is good on them and I haven’t had any issues. I left a mag loaded for 2 years to max capacity ran it recently and no issues.
PMAG trial
Overall great product!! I have only been able to function test these mags briefly so far and they are doing great. No issues feeding, they seat well and have a nice quality feel. Ten mags for this price is a no brainer.

Good Light Magazine
Never had a problem with any of my PMAGS. Only issue with the AK ones is they can break the lips if you drop them or accidentally step on them. I'd use steel mags for something you have to bet your life on but for a cheap mag for the range or something light to carry around all day these are perfect. These are the factory mags for the GALIL ACE and one of the few poly mags that fit in it so it's what I use and again, 100% reliable. Would prefer steel but the gun with a loaded steel mag is real hefty. Girlfriend can't even shoulder it comfortably. These bring the weight down just enough for her and make it nicer for me.
Better then the surplus metal mags
I bought four of these when they first came out. After a few years of use these are still running like they did when new. Normally I prefer the metal body GI mags and the Military surplus AK mags. I was very skeptical about a pmag AK mag since the metal mags are pretty chunky looking and the pmag are thin and clean looking. But when the pmag is in the gun it looks better than the military surplus mags. The pmag also functions better than the surplus mags. Overall all I have had minimal feeding issues with the pmags in my rifle compard to the surplus mags. With the surplus mags I would have a few stove pipes, a few failures to feed and a couple of miscellaneous jams per range trip and typically shoot around 500 to 1000 rounds per trip of Wolf ammo. So it could be ammo and not the 30+year old surplus mags. Granted that I have rebuilt the mags several times over the years so they are in good shape. The pmags might have one or two issues per trip. Because they are working well in my rifle I have started to replace all of my surplus mags with the pmags when they are on sale. I wish that they still were as cheap as they were when they first came out since I probably have close to 50 surplus mags to replace and mags can get expensive quickly. In my experience these are the best mags available for the AKs. They are lighter and function better than the Russian and German surplus mags. They also look great in the gun even though they look totally different from the metal bodied surplus mags. After a few years of use I am sold on the pmag and I am not buying any more surplus mags and have boxed up my old surplus mags and put them away in the attic for storage just in case that I do need them at some point. But I am definitely a fan of the pmag Ak mags. Hopefully they will release a window version at a good price at some point. As I said before I am not a big fan of pmags in general but these mags have along with the Bolt action mags have changed my mind about the pmags. I simply prefer the metal GI surplus mags but not anymore. Since these mags function better than surplus mags that I have always been partial to. Because they are very durable and the feed lips could be adjusted some to improve their function. While the pmag simply works correctly right out of the package and stands the test of time.
great mags
The new magpul mags work well and do what they are supposed to. They are not metal lined but do handle a huge amount of punishment. More punishment than a mag should. These mags do not have metal reinforcements but then neither do the AR15 pmags and they are the gold standard and have been taking a beating for years. These will stand up to harsh environments and harsh training. Everything has its breaking point and it's designed intended use. For the money they are much better than a majority of aftermarket AK47 mags.
