ACRAGLAS GEL SHOP BEDDING KIT

ACRAGLAS GEL SHOP BEDDING KIT Reviews & Ratings

ACRAGLAS GEL SHOP BEDDING KIT

Over the years Brownells has had hundreds of customer requests for an epoxy accurizing compound with a butter-smooth consistency which would neither run, drip or leach out from between wood and metal after being placed in the gun stock. After many years of research and testing, we perfected a modified version of our popular Acraglas® that gives the same super accurizing bedding job and also meets those specialized smooth application features you have asked for. Acraglas Gel was designed to take advantage of the latest technological advancements in epoxy research. It has the best possible advantages built into it for those that want a butter-smooth type of Acraglas.

Nylon Derivatives are formulated into Acraglas Gel and provide greater "thin strength," shock resistance and stability over normal temperature extremes.

  • Slightly less shrinkage than that of Acraglas, which has an amazing 1/10th of 1%.
  • 1-to-1 mixing ratio gives a stable structure to Acraglas Gel that will not crack, craze or sugar-out as will other 1-to-1 epoxies. Plus this 1-to-1 mix ratio simplifies mixing and measuring small amounts accurately.
  • Slightly longer pot life to give the user more time when doing the actual bedding.
  • Longer cure time - Epoxy remains slightly flexible, longer, making it easy to trim away excess compound.
  • Readily blends with atomized aluminum, steel and stainless steel particles, to make a stronger, reinforced epoxy.
  • Can be dyed the same as Acraglas to match the characteristics of the gun stock being worked on.

The above features of Acraglas Gel give you an idea of how completely we fulfilled your requests for a companion product for Acraglas ... The Acraglas Gel stay-in-one-spot feature ... sophisticated molecular structure ... slightly longer pot life and curing time ... the ability to mix in aluminum or steel, make this a product we are proud to offer to you. Because of the characteristics of Acraglas Gel, the advantages of glass floc are already incorporated in the finished epoxy so the addition of floc is not recommended or needed.

Works great
Epoxy works great. Release agent will do the job but I suggest using paste wax instead. Save yourself some time and cleanup.

Glass kit
This stuff is great. Gives you plenty of time to get it were you want it. Doesn’t run everywhere either. It will stay were you put it.

Acraglas gel.
I use to strengthen side lock muzzle loading rifles. 4 oz. kit does quite a few guns.

Acraglas review
Ive used Acraglas for years, nothing better for tightening up a group because of a sloppy factory bedded stock, as well as rebuilding a stock that has dry rotted. Many uses, just make sure you follow the instructions.

Guaranteed to improve accuracy
Have been using for years and have found no equal. Have watched the YouTube gurus use other products-what a mess. Use to bed everything from 10-22s to custom bench guns as well as make repairs to my lovely wifes junk to my sons toys. Easy to use, stays where you put it.

Great Stuff, I've used it for years.
Awesome product, an industry standard.

All you need in 1 box.
I have bedded at least 4 rifles with this product on both laminate and synthetic stocks. Used as a pillar bedding agent and then action bedded once pillars cured in. Wow what a difference in groupings for 3 of the 4 guns. Havent shot the 4th to confirm just yet. (Still curing). Great instructions and all the supplies you need minus cleanup. Cleanup is pretty easy using high concentrate 97% running alcohol. Alcohol also aids in cleaning excess squeeze out material that was too thin to scrape away. I am a fairly handy DIY guy but as long as you follow the instructions this stuff gives great results in both strength and a beautiful job. Photo attached was pre final trimming. Forgot to get picture of finished job.

Good stuff
This is my "go to" for all wood repairs. I recently used it to bring a Burnside carbine stock back to life. Dyed black it is almost invisible. Messy but cleans up with alcohol. Getting the 1:1 mix ratio right can be a little challenging.
