Great bullets
Have used Hornady in the past and now converted to Bergers.
Like the improved ballistics and seem easier to reload
109 LRHT
These are typical Berger quality. Very consistent weight, length and base to ogive. They have a slightly better BC than the 105 hybrids, but are a bit more finicky as well. They seem to like a lot of jump and you are rewarded with better accuracy if you take the time to do a seating depth test. This is the case with any bullet, but really shows with this LRHT. If you are used to running 105 Hybrids, expect to use a few more during the testing phase. Seems a lot of folks are finding success with .060 to .110 jumps, and my gun is no different.
Excellent
As usual, Berger pulls through with a superior bullet.
109 LRHT
I shoot PRS, previously shot the 107 SMK which is great bullet that shoots well. I was just looking for something with a better BC. Not only did I get better a better BC, I also am getting better accuracy. My competition gun will shoot 10 shots in to a .25 MOA group off of a bipod and rear bag, something I couldn't get it to do with 107s. Could just be my barrel likes the 109 more. Also, from the ones I have measured, the 109s are very consistent in weight and base to ogive, with the large sample I weighed they varied less than .3 grains and less than a .002 base to ogive difference.
Shooting well
Like all Berger products, this one is shooting well. Just add varget and it'll make your 6mm GT (or close cousin) perform.
80 grain. 223 SMK
Look good, but the freebore in my Savage 110 Elite Premier is not long enough to load these. Going to see if I can find a gunsmith to lengthen the freebore.
