Fast and Simple
Worked better than I had hoped for! Working with a rifle that had been exposed to a caustic environment and in very poor condition. All of the exposed surfaces had rust and pitted. After much work to clean up I used Brownell’s 44/40 to reblue the entire rifle. Very easy to apply and the finish came out even with a very dark hue.

Very nice
I used this on a carbon steel machete that is pitted and it worked beautifully. It's an antique and a clean even blueing was not expected but it was fairly instant. I also used this on a 5160 spring steel item that had been hot tanked and, again, not an even and perfect result, but easily up to any reasonable expectation.
Great cold blue
This product works instantly. If you take the time to prep the receiving metal surface, degrease it prior to application and heat it up like the directions say it gives great results. Obviously this is for touch ups, but worked great and is easily blended/matched to original hot bluing. It took about three times to get the desired black color I wanted on my last project, however other cold blues I use take multiple applications too. Its a great product and one of few that I was thought was worth every penny spent.

I have been wanting to try this product for several years and finally got some. I used it today, following the directions and received excellent results! The small parts were too easy so I tried a larger peice, a 10" bayonet, and it looks really good!

This stuff works great! Follow the directions and you will have no problems. Metal prep is most important. I would also like to point out that the joker that gave a 1 star review apparently cant spell. So take that for what its worth. Outstanding product!

A life saver - so to speak
I like the cream, it does'nt run all over the place, you never know when you will slip wity a driver or a punch, also works great on lightly rusted firearms, read the instructions!!
Touch Up or Complete
I have been using 44/40 for years. Mostly for touch up but complete guns also. The cream stays where you put it. Very little mess. I have matched blue on everything from Browning hi luster to the old Savage single shotguns. Great product for the old timer like me, over 40 years of smithing, to the sportsman that just wants to touch up his deer rifle.
