Very Handy Item
I bought this to use with mt Sig 716 Patrol and like another reviewer mentioned, I had to drill out the hole slightly to fit the take down pin on my rifle. This is one of those accessories you never knew you needed until after you used it, and then wonder how you ever got along without it, This is a well made, simple solution to a problem at a reasonable price. It doesn't get any better.
Don't forget the rod guide
On my DPMS lr-308 had to open up the ID with a 1/4 in drill bit to fit the pin(no biggie)
AR-15 Rod Link and Guide
Another niffty little idea, that makes life a little easier. I bought it on a lark and now I use it all the time. Thanx Chris in Northwet Oregun
Sinclair AR-10 Cleaning Link
The design and application are the same as my almost 20 year-old AR-15 link. The older one was machined out of a solid piece of Delrin. This one has the armatures milled out which may weaken the structural integrity over time. The residual chaff was not removed from product after insertion of the upper retaining pin hub. The retaining pin for the upper receiver is exact dimensions for DPMS and Stag Arms. The lower receiver retaining pin hole however is not. Other reviewers commented on the need to ream out to larger diameter for use. I too found this to be true. I reamed hole out to 17/64ths for a desired tight fit. Thus only 4 stars, otherwise a good product to have on the cleaning bench.
308 AR Cleaning Link....
Unfortunately, the AR10/.308, isn't MILSPEC! I'd have provided a higher rating! Unfortunately, the take-down hole, was the same size as the AR-15! Thought that I had received an incorrect part! No, the upper pin fit my upper, yet the take-down hole was too small, the same size as the AR-15!!! So, I returned that part...meaning, one should peruse other customer reviews; as this is a known issue with this item! Fortunately, customer support provided a replacement cleaning link...which, unfortunately was still too tight. Not wanting towards experiencing another round with such issues, I burnished/reamed such issues! My AR10 lower, a Noreen...meaning, I used Stoner internals, springs & pins!
Worked after adjustment
Had to use a 9/32" drill bit and drill the hole slightly larger to get my lower pin through on my Seekins based AR. Afterward, worked great.
