Lapua brass is hard to surpass

I started buying .223 Rem. Lapua loaded factory ammo, in the 50 rd. box, 5-6 years ago when they were around $18 to $22 per box (on sale from a sports warehouse). I purchased around 2400 rds. Some of that brass has been loaded 6 times and they're still going strong. Not one case has been tossed out due to loose primer pocket or split necks, etc. I do trim the overall length after the 3rd full length sizing. I reload with Starline, Norma, Nosler, Win., Rem., Federal Premium and Geco rifle brass. I like Lapua the best. Excellent results and consistency.

I prefer Lapua brass

I use Lapua brass almost exclusively. Some claim it is more expensive, but I find that the reloads per brass with Lapua is twice most of its low price competitors. Lapua is ready to load out of the box and I find that it has almost no trim length variation in a box of 100. Lapua annealing is outstanding and the primer pockets wear out before the necks split. I can't say that about any other brass I have tried.

Best in class!

I get superb accuracy loading with Lapua brass. I have an AR15 built with a 26" Kreiger barrel. It's as accurate as many bolt guns at about 0.5 to 0.75 MOA. To get that accuracy, just like a bolt gun, you have to get the load recipe right. I am loading 70g Berger VLDs with 22.0g 2230 powder into Lapua cases. These cases require the least amount of preparation. I full length size them, trim to length and load. With other brass, I also have to clean the flash hole, primer pockets and turn necks. Lapuajust gives me the consistency needed to get the performance out of my rifle. I am anxiously awating the .260 Remington cases.

Case lengths all over the chart

I have been shooting Lapua brass for about 6 years and have been very impressed. Brass has always required the least amount of prep. The latest lot I purchased had case lengths that were all over the chart. Thinking of switching to Norma. Just loaded 1000 rds. using Norma brass and the case lengths for the vast majority were very close to trim length. It was like the old Lapua.
