223 REMINGTON BRASS Reviews & Ratings

Starline Inc. 5.56×45mm NATO / .223 Remington Brass - Precision Craftsmanship Reloaders Trust

For handloaders who demand accuracy, consistency, and long-lasting components, Starline, Inc. 5.56 NATO / .223 Remington Brass stands above the rest. Proudly manufactured in the USA, Starline’s reloading brass delivers tight tolerances, thoughtful metallurgy, and unmatched reliability across dozens of reload cycles.

Why Starline Brass Leads the Industry

Two-Spec Design in One Brass

Starline’s 5.56 NATO cases aren’t just re-labeled .223 brass-they feature a slightly harder case head to safely handle the higher pressures typical of NATO-spec loads. This means greater durability with each reload, making them ideal for both mild and magnum rounds.

Superior Consistency

Each batch maintains uniform wall thickness, case length, weight, and primer pocket depth. That precision translates into better headspacing, neck tension consistency, and more predictable internal ballistics-critical for tight groups across varied rifles.

American-Made Excellence

From expert metallurgy to stringent quality control, every case is crafted in Missouri. U.S. manufacturing ensures consistent quality and trusted material sources that global imports simply can’t match.

Reloading Advantages You Want

  • Multi-Round Durability: Most users report 6–8 reloads or more without cracks or case failures when using moderate loads and proper prep.
  • Match-Grade Accuracy: Reloaders consistently cite improved velocity SDs and precision accuracy when using Starline over mixed bulk brass.
  • Direct Chamber Fit: Feeding in AR platforms and bolt rifles is smoother and more reliable thanks to uniform dimensions.
  • Cost vs. Quality: While a step above bargain brands, Starline delivers performance comparable to premium options like Lapua-at a very compelling value.

Community Feedback from Reloaders

  • On forums like AR15.com, shooters praise Starline’s consistency in headspace and capacity, pointing to the harder 5.56 case base as a true feature-not just cosmetic.
  • Many reloaders say Starline brass avoids the common pitfalls of softer brass that can flake or crack early, making it a 'safe bet' for competitive or defensive builds.
  • Compared to once-fired military brass with primer crimping or material inconsistencies, Starline arrives clean, uniform, and ready to resize-saving prep time and ensuring batch precision.

Starline 223 rem brass
This stuff is the best bang (pun intended) for the buck. I've shot thousands of these pieces in 223 rem and 5.56. No, it's not Lapua brass, buts it's currently less than 25% the cost which is unbelievable. It's always very consistent. Here's a picture of a 5 shot group @ 100 I shot this week guessing on a load with 50 gr Speer TNT uhbullets, VV N133 and starline brass that's been shot at least 6-7 times and it could be ten X fired... I've probably shot over 1,000 critters with this brass in 223, 5.56 and 223 Ackley. It's amazing stuff for the price and better than anything that's twice as expensive (especially the red brand stuff).

Lets go Brandon
I really like Starline brass. Ive never had any issues with loading sizing no dents dings and everything within specifications. Ive purchased 9 mm 45 ACP 223/5.56 and 308 and Ive never had a problem with any of it.

Thanks Brownells
Ordered 500 pieces and got 518 pieces. Starline is very good brass and the 223 is no exception. It sure is nice getting more than you thought was coming for a change. Lapua always gives a extra piece of brass, so thanks Brownells for the extra brass.

Impressed!
I have yet to shoot the reloads I have with this brass, but when I inspected and compared it to the Nosler and Norma brass I have the weight was the first thing I noticed. Starline definitely DID NOT skimp on materials. VERY sturdy. The next things was the VERY consistent average length. Although I did deburr and chamfer it again, it seemed ready to reload straight out of the bag. EXCELLENT value!
