High Quality kit at great price
This kit installed without any trouble into a Taurus PT1911. No adjustments were needed to sear length or anything else. Highly recommend this kit.
Perfect as usual
Absolutely perfect fit nd function. I did have to refit my thumb safety. Trigger pull is now a crisp #3.5 and breaks like glass. I did not use the hammer spring as I already had a hammer spring I liked.
Smoooooth!
I replaced the crummy trigger in my brand-new Gold Cup, a real disappointment, with this one. Now it feels like a Gold Cup should feel. It fit great with no modification to my thumb safety required.
Everything is outstanding
Always great products. However, why are most of the 1911 tools always out of stock?? Or, low stockage of many items. Website is some what difficult to work with.
Better than I had expected
Ordered this kit a couple days ago, it came yesterday. Kudos to Brownell's on making the order/shipping/delivery process smooth. Now for the best part. I have an inexpensive RIA 1911 that I had previously done trigger/sear/hammer/disconnector refining on, but not good enough for me. Installed the kit today. Small amount of filing and stoning on the safety, very easy to do. The results were outstanding. Trigger pull went from 5.75lbs to 3.75lbs. Absolutely no stacking or creep, breaks like glass. This is the best improvement I've ever had. I'm thinking of ordering more. Very Happy.
I can trust this trigger job
I bought this kit because the Taurus PT1911 had a heavy trigger @ 8 pounds and I don't trust MIM hammers and sears (except Wilson Combat). Also replaced the heavy steel trigger with a WC. 4 parts dropped right in with no troubles other than firing pin safety. The mainspring seems too large in diameter and binds in 2 different mainspring housings. Also went with the C&S ambidextrous thumb safety (keep it in the family) and was shocked by how much I had to file off the safety to fit it. This is the fault of Taurus being slightly off the original design in a few areas. I have to tap the grip bushing holes because they are slightly undersized and replacements will not screw in.
Worked great in Colt Delta Elite 10mm
Long story short, this C&S trigger pull kit works great in my Delta Elite 10mm. Initially had some install issues, but setting it aside for later, I determined I must have not installed the Series 80 lower firing pin safety lever quite right the first time trying to install it. Once past that point the install went well and the results were better than I hoped for. The original Colt fire control parts weren't too bad but this C&S trigger kit is VERY noticeably better - lighter pull weight and a "breaks like glass" sear release when it does fire, with no creep before that happens. I don't have a trigger pull weight measuring tool, but it truly feels like it's about 4 to 4-1/2 lbs now. I also wanted the stainless steel parts to limit (hopefully eliminate) rust/corrosion buildup and believe these will help immensely. The machine work on all parts is truly great, with slightly chamfered edges and hole entries and adds a nice touch to the most visible part, the hammer. This kit could possibly be used with no touchup or fitting, but I decided to polish the trigger bow and sear spring contact surfaces on the disconnector and sear, using diamond grit lapping tape to quickly achieve a super smooth surface. I also had to slightly touch up my Ed Brown ambidextrous manual thumb safety but it didn't take much. I couldn't ask for better end results and want to thank the Brownells support tech I spoke with for recommending this kit. I would say anyone who is comfortable performing a detail disassembly of their 1911 should be able to do this on their own as well.
Great replacement for a worn sear/hammer
Bought a used Delta Elite that had a worn sear/hammer combo. This set makes the pistol act like new again. A little involved to install, but thank goodness for YouTube!
High quality superior product
Used this on my Commander build and it was worth every cent. Combined with a Wilson's Bulletproof strut and pin, I got a flawless trigger pull with minimal fitting. Minor polishing of the sides of the hammer and the disconnecter were all that was needed. With a slight touchup to the thumb safety for the sear contact, it was basically a drop in affair. Trigger pull is light and crisp at a little over 4 pounds. If you're doing a quality rebuild for carry, this is the ticket.
Love This Trigger Kit
I first bought this for my Taurus 1911 and could not have been more pleased. Because the hammer needed a little honing, it took the gun smith an extra few minutes and the trigger breaks at an even 4 pounds. I next installed this in my Springfield Range Officer and it made all the difference to the trigger pull. I have since then installed this kit in all my 1911 GI models. I Have both the standard and stainless steal in my 1911s. Do note that if your 1911 has a Spur Hammer and you switch to a Combat Hammer you will need to swap out the Bob Tail safety for a Beaver Tail safety. You will also have to do a little work to the safety after installing the kit.
