Great Frame for The Price
Built a rack grade 1911, Remington Rand slide with fixed sights. Slide fit with some minimum lapping, pins fit tightly and trigger fit perfectly with some honing. The build came out Great very satisfied with the quality or the frame.

Very nice receiver
I've used Caspian receivers on numerous builds, both for customers and myself, and I continually come back to them. This one in particular has a nice classic look that I like. The only negative I can think to mention, is that the trigger slot is very tight. It makes you spend a little more time fitting the trigger, but if you know it going in, it's not that big of a deal. Brownell was awesome to deal with as always.

My first 1911 build and Caspian frame
This is my first build. I mated the frame with a Remington Rand slide from 1943 and the Colt barrel that came with it. The fit was great! I just had to work on lapping the last 1/4 of the slide with the frame. [...] I usually like to do business locally but price and 2 week lead time was a "no brainer" Grip bushing cuts where perfect. Finish was perfect! Holes for ejector and slide stop are well rounded and flush. Can't beat the price... You will not be dissapointed.

Great Start
Great fit and finish for a custom gun. Fit the slide perfectly with hardly any mods at all. Will finish project gun with a breeze!
5
great frame
It is a cast frame, the rough casting is done with 4130 steel at Ruger's Pine tree foundry in NH then finish machined by Caspian. Do not be afraid of of this frame being cast. tolerances are on the big side for fitting. Big name at a low price. hole placement is spot on. In the white may be a con for some but it also allows you finish as desired. Bare frame, no plunger tube installed.

NICE
thought the precision of the cuts was very nice. Most 1911 parts fit right on except for the trigger. The cuts for the trigger were very snug, they are going to take some filing. Other than that i am very pleased with this product.

check trigger fit first
should have checked the trigger before fitting slide and barrel.I was not happy with all the work for the trigger.
