1911 SHOK-BUFF RECOIL SYSTEM

1911 SHOK-BUFF RECOIL SYSTEM Reviews & Ratings

Easy-to-install kit instantly improves cycling, reliability and accuracy without modifying the frame or the slide. Exclusive, injection-molded, polyfiber buffers slip onto the guide rod be- tween the head and spring and keep the slide from hitting the frame. Prevents expensive frame damage and softens the felt recoil of high power competition loads. Full-length guide rod keeps the recoil spring straight for smoother functioning and longer spring life. Together they provide consistent barrel lockup and increased accuracy.

SPECS: Kit includes 416 stainless steel one-piece, full-length guide rod and plug, 6 Shok-Buff washers, 1 light recoil spring, 1 heavy recoil spring, 1 extra power firing pin return spring. Fits 1911 Auto models and calibers listed only.

For my ATI 4.25"
I had to put it in the lathe and trim a little bit off then chamfer it for a smooth assembly. After a little fitting it took an ATI with a 4" grouping at 15 yards and sloppy recoil into a very nice shooter. Put 5 rounds in the same hole at 20 yards with factory ammunition.

Seems to work , Gun feels tight & smooth
Haven't shot the gun yet, feels tight and smooth. Put it in a 68 llama 1911, great fit. Going this weekend to see how it works.

Great drop-in product.
Bought this four months ago with 5,000 rounds through it to-date. Really like this product but .... be advised that once installation is complete....you will no-longer be able to just pop your slide off in a few short seconds unless you have thumbs-of-steel. The guide-rod-plug has sharp edges and even after some gentle-stoning it is strongly advised that you use a good barrel bushing wrench so you will save the end of your thumb for another-day !! Functionality of the FLGR is great, recoil is milder with the proper spring selection and it gives me piece-of-mind knowing the recoil spring is properly captured and functioning better than stock setup. Takes more time to reassemble however that's worth the performance-increase. Looks-sweet when the slide is locked back !!!
