Every 1911 owner needs a spare.

AS many know, this is the easiest part on an M1911 to lose. My thumb slipped and it was gone.looked 2 hrs and ordered and as I looked up from computer there it was but I now have two spares that fit perfectly.

Exact Fit Replacement

I bought this item because the original one for my Colt 1911 Government Model was inadvertently launched into a low earth orbit during disassembly.. The quality is spot-on. As an additional benefit, once installed, this item also helped to locate the original part, once it returned to earth!

Quality Part

A quality 1911 Plug can be a hard part to find. Brownell's part is perfect and is flat blued. It is mil-spec so drop it in. You're done; and done looking.

High Quality Part

You can pay a lot for a plug but this Brownells part IS what you are looking for. It is Mil-Spec, blued; what else can you ask for?

A decent replacement.

Fit and finish of the exterior were very nice. The inside of the plug showed very heavy tool marks. There was some sort of stone or metal dust inside the plug, as when I fired 100 rounds to test function, there was fine powder all in my recoil spring and barrel link.

Does not fit most 1911 models

Will not fit on most 1911 recoil spring guide rods. The cap sticks out too far and you can close the brushing.
