Typical High Quality from EGW
Fitted this to a new Kimber Custom II as a way to reduce the slide velocity (not because of issues, just for GP.) The EGW stop was just ever so slightly oversize in width, and already the max thickness that would fit the slot in the slide without *any* movement. Two minutes with a file, another two minutes on a stone and it was an absolute precision fit. Just what I'd expect from George and the crew at EGW, based on other parts I've used.
"Magic" control improvement for 1911's
Was aware of these years ago but didn't understand their value. Finally built up a 10mm to shoot 180 grain Hollow Points at 1200fps. Calculating that it would be considerably "meaner" for an old man to shoot I added one of these and a 23lb hammer spring to the build. Wow, Felt recoil as well as muzzle rise and flip were reduced to levels below the .45 shooting 800fps ball. I recommend this addition to ALL high power 1911's. As one user indicated, fitting time varies but the results are well worth it.
Quality
Another great part from EGW. I have these installed on three 1911's. It's oversized, so it can be custom fit to the slide and extractor. Works very well in an officer's, commander, and full size.
Slowed down the slide on my 45 super
Takes a little bit of patience to fit it but that should be expected, night and day difference on dwell time on my near Rowland loads in my super
very good parts
it works very will
Thank You EGW
Finally, or I just may be late to the game, a firing pin stop that cures clocking. I have now installed this firing pin stop in four different brands of 1911s and have been very pleased with the results. Fitting times may vary, but the average is about 30 minutes, start to finish. This is not a drop-in part. Elbow grease is required. Also, for best results, just lightly burnish the leading edge instead of rounding it off like the factories do. If you want a radiused FPS, buy a drop-in. But, if you want a tight fit that also slows down the recoil impulse, get one of these.
Qaulity firing pin stop by EGW
Nice part i would recommend this for someone wanting a tight fitting stop in stainless for an 80series 1911, there are not many options out there this is a good one though. I fit the stop by filing the sides until it could be pushed in by my finger with a snug fit, make sure that you chamfer the bottom of the stop were the hammer rubs.
For a tight fit
Like all of EGW parts I have used this one is solid. Plenty of material on the pin stop to ensure a nice tight fitted part.
Stop the Clock.....
This product stopped the clocking issue I had on my SA Trophy Match, had to file down the top so this would fit with my sight configuration. File and stone to fit and all issues were solved. Very well made with great service from Brownells
Easy Fit
Ordered two of these for 80 Series Colts, required very little "fitting" 440 and 1000 grit paper and a piece of glass to keep it all straight. Less than 10 minutes total time to fit and install both.
