1911 OFFICER'S MODEL MAGAZINES

1911 OFFICER'S MODEL MAGAZINES Reviews & Ratings

Ed Brown's Officer's Model 1911 magazines are built to be as robust and reliable as the 1911 pistol itself. The mag body of corrosion-resistant stainless steel is heat-treat hardened to Rc 35 for exceptional strength. The seam is neatly TIG welded, and the body is carefully polished inside and out, so there's nothing to snag on the magwell OR the rounds in the mag. The feed lips are engineered for reliable feeding of traditional ball ammo, as well as hollowpoints and target rounds. Officer's Model 1911 magazines from Ed Brown have a welded-on steel base plate to minimize bulk on a concealed carry pistol. And each mag comes with a pair of screw-on rubber base pads - a thin pad to protect that mag when ejecting it on hard ground and a thicker pad for added length for easy insertion into and removal from a pistol fitted with an extended magwell.

  • Models for .45 ACP (7-Rd) and 9mm Luger (8-Rd) pistols
  • Sturdy 410 stainless steel body / welded-on base plate
  • Available with natural Silver finish or non-reflective Black Nitride for extra corrosion protection
  • Witness holes for easy monitoring of load status
  • High tensile strength spring ensures reliable feeding & lock back of slide on last round
  • 2 rubber base pads included with each mag

All of these high-end features would give little benefit if these mags had a cheap plastic follower. Instead, Officer's Model 1911 magazines comes with a unique-design follower made from hardened STEEL (just like the mag body). The extended front skirt and anti-friction finish keep the round stack moving smoothly for reliable feeding AND full engagement of the slide stop after the last round. The Ed Brown crew has been manufacturing custom 1911s for over half a century. When it comes to extracting the full performance potential from your Officer's Model 1911, their magazines deliver!

Just like my OEM!
I have a Range Office Elite compact and these magazines are the exact same ones that came with my gun except without the EB markings. The pads are a nice touch but the screws are absolute garbage. Will probably need to drill and tap with 4-40 to get some descent threads and a better screw. More than likely I'll pitch them.

Ed Brown 1911 Officer 9mm Magazines
I have a total of 18 Ed Brown Magazines 1911 officer 9mm. As we all know Ed Brown makes some of the finest 1911s and 1911 parts to include magazines. What I like about the magazines, fair price for a quality product and its an Ed Brown magazine. The bad news, issues I have had: I have placed three orders for the Ed Brown magazines, approximately 6 magazines per order. The first order/batch I had no issues with the magazines, they function properly and as the last round was ejected the slide locked to the rear, perfect. In the second order/batch right out of the box one magazine failed to perform properly - after the last round was ejected the slide DID NOT lock to the rear, not bad one out of six magazines. I contacted Ed Brown customer service, they asked for me to send the magazine back for closer inspection. I had to pay $5 to send it back to Ed Brown. They sent the magazine back and stated that the spring was replaced as was the follower and it was tuned for max performance. Upon receipt of the magazine it worked as it should. The third order/batch right out of the box 5 of the six magazines did not perform properly - after the last round was ejected the slide DID NOT lock to the rear. When I was placing rounds in the magazine the springs did feel weak, especially for a brand new magazine. I just contacted EB customer service and I am waiting for a reply. When they work, they work well. But I am disappointed, Ed Brown magazines should work flawlessly out of the box each and every time. I just placed an order for 6 Wilson Combat Elite Tactical 1911 magazines. I'm hoping they will work flawlessly right out of the box. If you decided to purchase the Ed Brown 1911 officer 9mm magazine make sure to test it before you take it into the field. If it fails in the field it may cost you seconds and every second is critical. Thanks.
