Solid
Ed Brown parts are my choice for new builds. Ordered this wide thumb safety to give positive access on the 1911 with Crimson Trace Master Series Green Laser. The grips are thick. Needed some extra width on the thumb safety. The part is made with plenty of material for internal fitting.

Ed Brown part will take care of it. I can always depend on Brownells to have what I want, and get it to me quickly. My "go to" source. Thanks

Fitting Required
Installed this on a Taurus PT1911 45ACP. Safety did require fitting, but all after market thumb safetys do. It was not difficult, but you will need to have some knowledge of what you are doing and the right tools or you will ruin the safety.
Thumb Safety
I bought a RIA 1911 hi-cap framed pistol that just seemed to be missing something. During some dry fire practice, I realized that my thumb was looking for something to rest on. A quick look on Brownell's web site got me what I wanted. I knew beforehand that the extended thumb safety would require some fitting (YouTube confirmed that was the case with most thumb safeties.). The fitting is good with due care with common household tools. I have a happy thumb now.
Perfect !
Using the Col. Jeff Cooper method of thumb on safety, the extra width feels perfect . Beautiful bluing, too !
Good part
Thumb safety needs fitting. I wouldn't use one that didn't personally. I shaped it substantially and am happy with results. For the price and an ed Brown tool steel safety its a good value. Be advised its definitely extended. Plenty of meat to work with. No over movement up or down I like that
Perfect
I couldn't be more satisfied with this safety. I use a high grip and I can rest my thumb on this comfortably. The fitting was a snap, (took about 30 min) and it works flawlessly.
