Guide rod upgrade
Bought this as a upgrade replacement for my Gov model 1911 and a much better fit. Using this over the coil spring and op rod from the factory is a big improvement and prevents any type of coil bind. I replace the old with the new in all my 1911 models and recomment to my customers.

I am not a gun smith. I am an amateur 1911 builder. This was a drop in part with no fitting required in a springfield ronin 9mm. I did up the spring weight from 9lbs to 12.5lbs. Pistol is ultra smooth shooting and cycles like oilded glass. I am very haply with this product. The rear of the rod is beveled and does not contact the lower barrel locking lugs/cam surface. Only downside to the springfield ronin NOT this part is dissassembly.

Very Good but not as advertised
The description said this was a solid guide rod without a through hole. However it does have a through hole for some sort of disassembly tool I think. (Unless I'm mistaken and it's talking about a different hole) The reason I purchased this rod over others was for the lack of a through hole. Oh well. It installed easy and works good but please make sure the description is accurate.
