Does the job...
…though I would like to see an alternate head that can implement a peening/staking pattern for a bit more even disbursement of metal. Maybe an X or some other. Nonetheless, it worked, and is solid.
Great Tool
Easy to use and very well made.
Good tool
Good tool but I wish there was a little larger offset bend in it to better clear the front or back of slides. I protect my slides with tape so they are not marred by a strike from the tool. Don't forget that the setscrew holding the swage point can be loosed to change the orientation of the swage "point" (which is actually more like a stripe in shape) to distribute the peening forces. It is a good tool and I am glad I bought it.
makes the job very easy
Although I think the price was a little steep for this tool, it is the right tool for the job if you are staking a front sight into the slide of a 1911. The only problem I had with the tool was that the allen set screw would not hold the tip tight and I had to be careful not to loose it while staking a sight. 4 stars only because of the loose tip.
Valuable tool
Excellent product, does a very good job staking 1911 front sight tenons. Strong and easy to use and you can rotate the point to vary your impression. Only problem I had was the set screw which hold in the point kept loosening and the tip falling out after a few hammer strikes. However I can work with that to have the ability to rotate the point. I ordered an addiitional tip in case I lost the one that came with it, which I did.
