The Brownells Front Sight Staker makes front sight staking effortless, faster and far more accurate. Using an improved, offset punch design efficiently directs the full force of the hammer blow downward against the sight tenon. The hardened "V"-shaped tip easily displaces both wide and narrow tenons for a great-looking, tight-fitting front sight that won't shoot loose. It has a large square shaft that is easier to hold, see, and hit so there's less chance of a missed hammer blow striking your customer's expensive slide.

Very poor design

Did not work while removing my Gold Cup's stake sight. It shattered in a few pieces. Send an email, no answer from Brownells!

Swage point very weak material

while removing the stake sight, the tip (swage point) broke in two pieces. It seems to be fabricated of very weak material. Emailed, no answer, waisted money.

VERY POOR Quality, at least for the tip

Just received the staking tool, as I was installing tritium sights on my Colt 1911 Government model .45. The second time I hit the tool, (and I was using a 1 lb marking hammer for wood engraving), the tip shattered!!! Still have 2 of the pieces. Couldn't find the 3rd. Luckily, I bought a second tip!! But at $16 a tip, That works out to $8 a hit!! My ammo is cheaper than that, even during these times!! 2nd time I've purchased from Brownell. I will have to consider if there will be a 3rd!!
