frame support
Great tool, once you figure it out. The mag well filler does not need to be all that tight, if it does move tap it back or adjust it so it does not move. ,You just need to learn how to use the three screws.Instructions could have been better though. A little rosin helps. I ground some relief for the thumb safety and slide stop After fitting the slide fitting .I installed the heaviest recoil spring I have to assemble the barrel /comp and slide to the frame frame. Slide stop installed and thumb safety on safe (up). It held the slide and comp in positions to profile the comp on my mill. Worked great .

works great for me
It works great. I removed the GRIP SCREW BUSHINGS so I could move it up or down, you can also flip the mag well filler. On some guns you can only tighten two of the screws that tighten the mag well filler which is fine. I used it so I could tighten up the slide to the frame using Brownells slide fitting bars "080-745-000WB" and used Brownells Auto rail swag punches " 080-805-000WB" the mag well did move on me twice while swaging the rails. I just regrouped and tighten the mag well a little more. It was fine after that. If you take your time while setting it up it will work great.

Works perfect if you know how to use it.
Now if it doesnt fit because of a magwell, Take the magwell off. You can tighten the screws to the magwell filler with it in the gun if you take the grip safety off and tightnen it though the slot in the back of the frame. If you can not problem solve you probably shouldnt be using this tool. With that said this tool will do everything it is desined to do. If you dont have the proper tools to use with it then it will not do what you want. When it comes to any frame alterations you should have knowlege of what you are doing. It can be used several differnt ways to checker or other frame alertrations. Dont expect the tool to set up its self. Yes on some modifications you have to use your brain to set it up. The directions are minimal but the tool is probably not desined to be used by someone who is not capible of thinking outside of the box. Perfect tool and well worth the money.

Well Designed, Heavy Duty
Good Product, well made. Will hold any 1911 frame as long as there is no extended Mag Well on the frame. I like the adjustable stock mag well and it works great if positioned correctly.

Solid & Wellbuilt
I bought this to use in building a 1911. It would probably work well on an older style gov. frame. It was not usefull to me for my build as I am using a Caspian receiver. The opening in the grip is not as large so the screw that holds it together doesnt line up with the opening. Also I ordered an integral plunger tube. This was designed more to be used without the plunger tube which was another alignment issue. I also had a problem trying to get the mag support into the mag well. The fit was too tight. and there was very little access to tighten the three screws. Of the three wrenches provided two were the right size. the smallest one was too small. The large screw that holds it together would be difficult to position and would interfere with the placement in a vise.

Not worth the time
The item is well built, Problems start with the fact that there are 3 screws to tighten the mag well filler only two are accessible and if you the lower screw is block by the lower portion of the frame. Also if you hammer on the frame at all the magwell filler will slide in the mag well and have to be constantly move back.Another problem in the big SCREW sticking out the side it is really hard to get the gun CLAMPED in the vise. you are only able to clamp a small area and the darn thing moves around when beating on the frame say to fit the frame to slide[...]I will pass
