Tool steel
Great replacement for MIM parts. I'm sure factory MIM parts are ok. I just prefer tool steel. These work well. Have a gunsmith install it if you don't know what you're doing.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

dropped in my RIA 9mm 1911. no mods needed. crisp 2.5lb trigger pull now.

Nice part, delivered quickly.
If I need a 1911 part, and it's a part available from EGW, I'll always buy that part, and if Brownells sells it, all the better.

Excellent sear for 1911 Colt.
Nice sear from EGW. I like their parts, well made, and high quality.

Near Perfect
Bought for my 9mm 1911, original sear had creep and a heavy break. Dropped in with just a small amount of touch up on the thumb safety. Very nice result! Clean break at around 3.5-4 lbs.

Good basis for a trigger job.
On a friend's recommendation, I purchased this sear and the EGW lightweight hammer to improve the trigger pull on a Kimber Custom 1911 in 9 mm. These parts were drop-in. However, I polished surfaces that contacted other moving parts before installation. Both parts coming from the same manufacturer, EGW, the sear mated with the hammer hooks perfectly. Examination of the mating surfaces under magnification showed very nice (not perfect) bearing surfaces. With a reduced strength mainspring, and some adjustments to the sear and disconnector spring, the pull was reduced from 64 oz to 34 oz. with no perceptible creep. Overall, very pleased with the results.

Very nice 1911 sear
This is a very nice and tough sear. Out of the bag, it requires virtually zero stoning, or other fitting. I've used this in a re-build, with new trigger, disconnect, hammer and sear spring, and it really makes the trigger just right. No slop, no creep, nice clean break. Hope that info helps!

EGW they mean what they say
I look at what's out there and with out mentioning any names its not so much the product as the customer service, and I understand that people are very busy in their smithing and machining work that there is little time for chet chat but when I ever needed advice on a product or have a problem and leave a message they always come back with an answer ready to help, yup EGW they get the job done, thanks EGW.

Drop in, no smithing, much smoother pull
Remington 1911 R1. Stock trigger had a rough pull. Before buying the full trigger job kit, I wanted to try a simpler solution. The EGW sear dropped right in and made a major improvement. Zero smithing required. On a side note, I also tried installing the series 80 to 70 conversion. That didn't do it, but the new sear did.

Quality sear
The stock trigger pull on my Ruger CMD was about 5.5lbs with some creep and grittiness. The EGW sear dropped in with no fitting and combined with a 19lb mainspring and a Colt sear spring I have a clean break with zero creep and its much lighter. I'm buying another to install in my Springfield.
