1911 COMPETITION MATCH #1 TRIGGER

1911 COMPETITION MATCH #1 TRIGGER Reviews & Ratings

Wilson Combat launched its aftermarket product lineup almost 40 years ago with the release of its #1 Competition Match 1911 Trigger. Now, almost half a century later, the company is going back to its roots and updating this famous design, giving customers an enhanced version built with the benefit of experience and modern technology. The Wilson Combat #1 Competition Match Trigger drops into most production 1911s on the market, requiring little-to-no fitting. Once installed, all that's required is minor final adjustment from the consumer. The trigger itself features an aluminum pad with a serrated face and a matte-silver finish. The trigger features a three-hole design that's lighter than factory triggers and is designed to prevent trigger bounce that occurs after the hammer falls. Each #1 Competition Match Trigger features a bow machined from hardened stainless steel, which is polished to a fine finish and includes take-up tabs that allow shooters to adjust trigger pre-travel distance. The trigger also features an overtravel screw that allows users to adjust backlash.

Worth the money and time to fit.
I'm using it in my Colt (Walther) 1911 22 Gold Cup Trophy. It gives me a consistent feel for the trigger and a solid stop. It did take a little polishing to fit my gun but it's only 80 % parts compatibility. It also adds the cool factor when people are looking at my gun.

Excellent Trigger - Fantastic Price!
Shorter bow allows good pre-travel. Taller shoe allows good vertical fit. Can't beat this trigger for the price!

Worked Great in Colt Delta Elite 10mm
I bought this trigger to use with a Cylinder & Slide Tactical II 4-lb Stainless Steel Trigger Pull Kit I also bought from Brownells for my Colt Delta Elite 10mm. This trigger replaced the original Colt trigger, which wasn't too bad, but didn't perform as well as I wanted. This Wilson Combat trigger was literally a drop-in affair. The only thing I did beyond this was to use some diamond grit polishing tape to make the backside of the trigger bow super smooth for the disconnector to move on. Once installed, I was immediately impressed with how precise the trigger pad filled the space in my handgun's frame, providing a smooth and wobble-free trigger press and release, from start to finish. I also like the fact the trigger bow is stainless steel, so it should be very corrosion resistant and strong so as to maintain a physically stable shape. Speaking of the bow, I didn't have to do anything to it - it fit the frame cuts perfectly and runs VERY smooth from each end of the trigger travel. I highly recommend this trigger.

MY TRIGGER OF CHOICE
AFTER TRYING MANY OF THE OTHER 1911 TRIGGERS, THIS IS MY TRIGGER OF CHOICE. IT'S EASY TO INSTALL AND ADJUST FOR PRE-TRAVEL AND OVER-TRAVEL. THE BOW IS SMOOTH AND STRAIGHT WITH THE PROPER ANGLE TO MEET THE DISCONNECTOR. THE SHOE IS ALSO FIRMLY ATTACHED AND EASY TO FIT.

Fits like a glove.
Very nice trigger and the price was right! Twenty minutes of fitting in my Colt 9mm and it was done! I Iike the take up adjustment on the bow a lot!

Wilson Combat does it again
Purchased this because I got tired of the look ok my Wilson Combat Flat Face solid trigger shoe. And I like the adjustability of this shoe a lot better. In fact I have like everything about this trigger...no complaints.

Solid product but not for goldcups
This is a solid built product. Was purchased for installing in a colt goldcup for pre travel adjustment but the shoe is only .250 wide and .916 tall. The goldcup trigger shoe measures .352 wide and .9365 tall. No specs listed on web site page for this unit. My bad for not calling their techs to verify. For the price is still a nice ok unit. Will save back for other project. Hopefully the company will start listing the specs of this and others not listed to give other perspective buyers the facts.

You can do better
For twenty dollars it’s not terrible. The aluminum trigger itself is okay. It has an over travel set screw, and is slightly oversized to allow for fitting. The issue is that the bow which goes around the mag is very flimsy. It will bend and deflect. If you compare it to your stock trigger, you’ll see that it’s very flexible and under-designed. I’d suggest you go with something else.

Super disappointed
Pre travel screw doesn’t fit. Stripped the hole immediately and would not screw in. This is not the first WC product I have had issues with. Because of those issues, I will never buy another WC part again and I would never recommend their parts to anyone.
