Didn't fit my R1
I'm sure it works fine, Wilson Combat doesn't make junk. However it did not fit my Remington R1. I was annoyed that my all blued 1911 had a stainless bushing so I ordered this one. My guess is that the Remington is out of spec rather than the other way around. I could try and have it fitted but that might take the finish off which would defeat the purpose. I'm not going to return it because it's not Brownells fault it didn't fit.

Good quality
I replaced old collet bushing in my Series 70 Colt Government with this SS Wilson Combat Bushing. The bushing to slide fit was perfect. The I.D. measured .579 and my barrel measured .580 so I hand sanded the I.D. of the bushing to .581. A day at the range showed tighter groups then I've had since I bought the pistol in early 80.s. I went from 6" groups to less then 2" at 20 yds. I suggest hand sanding over using power tools for fitting to get the best fit. Great, easy to install product. Make sure you have a bushing wrench.

great product
took a bit of fitting, but now my old norinco has a bushing that requires a wrench. the barrel is also quite a bit tighter in the bushing. I cant wait to test it out as I've had great luck with there other products and cant wait to see my groups shrink.

Lots of extra metal for a tight fitting
I had to do a couple hours of hand polishing just to get it to fit into the slide on my wife Colt Officers model 1911. After that came about 30 minutes of needle filing, trying to shape the locking lug so that it would turn in engage and stop lined up exactly with the plunger hole. I'm going to be installing a Wilson Combat full length guide rod and reverse plug kit so there is no need for the bushing to over travel like the factory. I stopped filing the locking lug before I reached the over travel position.

1911a1 Barrel Bushing
I will say that Wilson Combat has great quality products. But, when it comes to the barrel bushing for a Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec to drop in, forget it. It will require some work from a gunsmith. I am a hobby gunsmith but, this is a bit advanced for me to even try to make it work when I don't have the correct tool for the job.

Requires fitting
I purchased this to replace a broken bushing in a Colt Officer MKIV Stainless. It appears to be identical to the original and fits the factory barrel quite well. The OD, however, is oversized and requires fitting, just as Wilson describes. You'll need the proper tools to machine and fit this item or you'll need enough ingenuity and determination to make do without.

Not a drop-in.
I was hasty and bought this one as it is listed as a drop-in. It is not. Spent quite a bit more time fitting this that I couldnt charge the client. Brownells, we depend on your descriptions and listings. Yes, there is other information, but they contradict...

Takes some fitting but its good
I put these on my Springfield Range Officer Elite and Mil-Spec since I wanted a blued bushing. Took a little fitting with some sand paper and wooden dowel rod but it fits nice and tight now.

Wilson Combat 1911 Barrel Bushing (29B)
Installed this bushing on my Springfield 1911-A1. Very tight fit but finally able to get the slid to cycle freely after cycling it a few dozen times. May remove the bushing and polish the bushing ID with some 1000 grit sand paper on a wood dowel rod. I think a snug fit bushing could help increase accuracy.
