Fixed the problem
My slide was locking back prematurely while firing with rounds still in the magazine. This fixed the problem, zero malfunctions since replacing the plunger spring and assembly

MUCH stiffer spring than any other 1911 detent I've ever come across! Makes it a little tricky to install but it works well.
Functions as it should
Wilson Combat offers quality parts, so as for quality and fit I knew I was good to go. One of our customers was not happy with how easily the safety on his 1911 would disengage. He wanted that corrected and also an ambidextrous safety installed. The fitting and installation of the safety went smoothly and the new plunger and spring assembly was easy to install. The spring does not have the 'kink' in it, but after the first time you remove the safety from a 1911, you learn that the little guy might want to escape. These parts are a good value and more importantly, the customer will be happy.
Drop in fit
First off Brownells is great. Product arrived earlier than expected! As for my plunger spring assembly I foresee years of service out of it. My 1911 now has a positive on/off feel to it after roughly 30 years on the original one. Buy it and you can't go wrong. Very pleased with the whole transaction. Thank you Brownells.
Good part
Dimensionally good part. The spring is missing the traditional, kink that keeps the spring in place during disassembly. This is the only negative, although it does not affect functionality.
