Ed Brown
Just like all Ed Brown stuff GOOD! Trigger came in right at 3lbs.
Nice kit
Drop in for old SA Champion. The only thing is the left side sear pin hole was a little small for the pin, the right one was ok. Had to use rimmer. No other fitting was required. Trigger pull is about 5lb.
Great value for my PT1911
My father gave me a Taurus PT1911 and the OEM trigger was horrible. 8+ pounds of gritty, creepy trigger travel. Just installed this kit and now I am at a crisp, creepless 4.5 lbs! I had never taken a 1911 apart but after watching a few YouTube videos it was not hard. I did have to bend the grip safety leg of the sear spring out as there was not enough pressure to keep it engaged.
Nice for the Price
I installed this kit on an Argentine Modelo 27 (1911A1 clone) when the original trigger pull was measured at 14lbs. I am attempting to save all the original parts in original condition. The kit from Ed Brown allows me to get a usable trigger pull without alteration of the OEM parts. I had to adjust the length of the sear as the hammer was contacting the grip safety prior to lockup. There is a projection from the hammer face that needed to be ground down as the slide wouldn't move past it. It needed about .125" ground off. At the end, though, I ended up with a sub 5# trigger pull and all the safeties functional. There is just a hint of creep, but I want to shoot it a bit before adjusting the hammer hooks or sear angle. It's a vast improvement and I achieved the installation in an afternoon sitting at my desk, except for a trip to the shop to grind down the projection on the hammer face. This was my first 1911 trigger project and I learned a lot.
Ricochet Gun Shop
The kit parts are of high quality and very little to no fitting required to install the parts. works very smoothly after install and no failures noted when test fired. during range fire the fire controls work flawlessly. a smooth and easy trigger pull. I will use this kit with all of my builds that require this kit. you get the most bang for the buck.
Had to Fix my PT1911
Recently bought a Taurus PT1911. After shooting a half dozen magazines the trigger was very gritty with an 8lb pull. After disassembly to check for powder buildup in the trigger bar rails and the gun was pretty clean. Starting looking for a easy to install trigger kit and found this one at Brownells. While installing it the first time to check function, I discovered that Taurus rivets their hammer strut pin in place for their locking hammer feature. So in order to finish the install I replaced the pin and strut with more Ed Brown parts. The install worked so well that the only thing left to adjust was the over travel. I now have a 4lb trigger that works.
Product reviee
The product did not fit the make and model i put in. I ended up having to order my parts from another company.
