1911 10-ROUND ELITE TACTICAL MAGAZINES Reviews & Ratings

In the quest for flawless magazine function across a wide variety of custom and production handguns, Bill Wilson has redesigned the Elite Tactical 9mm 1911 magazines to feed more smoothly, seat easier and lock back positively in a wider spectrum of guns than ever before. The “Next Generation” ETM 9mm magazines have arrived and like other Wilson Combat Magazines will raise the bar for 1911 pistol reliability. After months of intensive research and testing by Bill Wilson in a myriad of custom and factory 9mm 1911’s, Wilson Combat believes they have solved the issue of magazine reliability in a single stack 9mm 1911. These Next Gen ETM magazines have a redesigned tube with a small front ramp to prevent nose down feeding with short or hollow point rounds. A redesigned back spacer accommodates a wide variety of long-loaded ammunition and a stainless steel follower and extra power spring ensure slide lockback even in guns with marginal or incorrectly fitted slide stops. Bill Wilson himself has logged over 10,000 rounds of various factory and reloaded 9mm ammunition to develop these magazines which are suitable for competition or tactical use.

Good Mags
Very nice mags, typical Wilson quality. Unfortunately have a problem with my RIA 1911 with the slide hanging up. Not sure why, something different on the RIA I guess. Tried them in my Colt 1911 38Super and cycled fine. Go figure...

Emt 9 mm magazine
Helped with feeding issues with a 1911 cured nose dive.. only time will tell

Built Wilson Tough
Very well built. Slight tweak to the follower on a couple had to be done. The slide stop would not release the slide because the slide stop portion of the follower was bent. No big deal.

Good but really tight springs.
I use Wilson Combat magazines in my .45 in my single stack major 1911. Those are great magazines for competition. These however are not those. Although with shooting they seem to be reliable. The plastic follower in the .45 mags will not bind, the 9mm mags however have a bent sheet metal follower, which tend to get stuck in the magazine tube when trying to unload a magazine with my fingers. The 9mm mag springs were so tight and the feed angle is sharp that when I tried to remove rounds from a fully loaded with my thumbs they caused the follower to bind. I was forced to use the pistol to remove the rounds, and this is something I can't do at the safe table. To combat this I store these mags fully loaded to lower the spring pressure so I can. Hopefully that will work. I can't find better 10 rd 9mm mags though. And they are reliable. So I will live with them.
