The Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor Barreled Action is a great platform for shooters who want to build their own long range, precision rifle at an affordable price. Starting with a standard-dimension forged steel short action (SA) receiver, Howa adds a hammer-forged barrel chambered for the popular new 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. The tricky headspacing is even done for you. The Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor barreled action has a one-piece bolt with traditional twin opposing locking lugs and an M16 style extractor with plunger. Inside the is a crisp, light, two-stage HACT (Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger) trigger that delivers a consistent, smooth pull. The three-position safety allows the action to be unloaded while on safe.

Buyer Beware

This is my second review, the first was given a 1 start. After going back and forth with Howa and showing them their add that said it has an adjustable trigger they replaced the rifled barrel and changed their add.. The replacement was night and day better. I now get 4 shot .5 moa groups at 100 yds with several different brands of ammo and the bolt functions as it should. I would have given 5 stars if the finish and metal work looked like a Weatherby but it is much more basic looking.

So it’s nice and accurate. So I did realize after barrel sighted with optic there was small gouge on the underneath of the barrel. It wasn’t that expensive and not a collector so I let it go. But QC should catch that. Just saying.

It is what I ordered and could perform as expected. Haven't tried yet. I have other Howas and those guns are accurate, well assembled, and easy to use. The Howa bolt action is always "zippy" but does not interfere with its inherent accuracy or my enjoyment.
