HOWA M1500 6.5 CREEDMOOR BARRELED ACTION

Amazing value
41.5g of H4350 and 140gr ELDMs, and it's shooting under 0.6MOA at 300 yards. Incredible value. The MDT Oryx is a great chassis to drop it into for a cheap long range setup, and this converts the bottom metal to AICS magazines. Two action screws torqued to 65 in-lb and you have a solid rifle.

Quality for a great price
I installed this in an MDT Field Stock and it fit perfectly. The stock trigger is excellent and the accuracy is outstanding for the price point. I have 40 rounds down range already and am pleased enough that I would purchase this in other calibers.

1 MOA
Purchased in October 2023, this didn't disappoint. It delivers 1 MOA accuracy consistently. For a budget precision rifle build, this barreled action is highly recommended.

If you are thinking, just do it!
So I must say, this is the first bolt action rifle I have purchased in years. I bought the barreled action with the MDT chassis from Brownells and added a 4-16 Monstrum scope on a 20 MOA rail. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. After zeroing at 50 yds I moved to the 100 yd range and the first two rounds went in the same hole. If you are thinking about buying a Howa Barreled Action, just quit, go ahead and buy the thing. I can't wait to push this out to 600 yds and further. I still have a few tweaks to do to it but I have no complaints at all. I can shoot this thing all day and feel comfortable doing it. It is a little heavy but with this barrel, you just have to expect it. Happy shooting!!!

Excellent Quality and option to build what you want!
I got this barreled action right after Thanksgiving but only finished my build this week and got to the range today. Upon picking up my barreled action I was extremely pleased with the fit and finish of the product including the hinged floor plate (which I didn’t use but it was nice and I tried it with snap caps). These barreled actions save money because you don’t have to throw away a cheap stock like you would if you bought many other starter rifles for your build and can choose you stock or chassis and the scope mounting hardware you prefer. I put mine in a KRG Bravo Chassis. Howa used to sell a whole rifle set up like that but discontinued it some time ago but I love KRG’s Chassis and it worked out perfectly. I also ordered a warn picatinny base from Brownells. I was able to go to the range today and go though Howa’s recommended barrel break in process. I believed this helped as the groups started shrinking as I shot/cleaned. After the break in I shot a .465 MOA group at 100 yards so Howa isn’t kidding about their sub MOA guarantee. This product may be right for you versus an expensive gunsmith rebarrel / build.

Great shooter.
Bought this and matched it up with MDT field stock, Caldwell bipod and Arken scope. I can't be happier with a rifle you can easily piece together without any special knowledge or tools. First range trip I fed it Federal premium Sierra match which feels like a cheat code. Shot sub MOA immediately after sight in. Even with the barrel hot it seemed to hold decent groups. Heavy profile isn't a mountain hunting rifle but great for blind hunting or target shooting. Can't wait to catch some deer and javelina with it.

Great Product and Even Better Customer Service
I placed the order on Wednesday and received the order the following Monday. This included Me contacting my FFL and them contacting Brownell's to get everything set up. It was precisely what I ordered and appears to be excellent quality. Any purchase I have ever made through Brownell's has been handled the same way!

Tack driver
Matched this up with a MDT Oryx Chassis and a Bushnell Match Pro 5-30x56. The initial series with factory match ammo were less than impressive. But when I started feeding it reloads with the bullet seated further out, almost into the lands, things changed a lot. Today I did the Playing card challenge at 100 yards, and got it on the third shot. The group is 0.39 MOA. I had a 0.37 MOA group last outing. Still in the testing out stage, I have only tried Hornady ELD Match 140 gr so far. And it should be pointed out, as far as rifle shooting go, I'm a novice.

You won't be sorry
I have a couple of these and they all shoot sub moa. The quality speaks for itself as soon as you pick it up. Great reputation. Make sure you get a good solid stock and not with pillars. Go for a better stock. The action deserves it!
