Flat out AWESOME
I got the 20" heavy barrel, and i am very pleased with the performance. This barrel is slow to heat up, and ive only put about 50 rounds through it so far, but it absolutely lives up to the sub moa guarantee! This is my first howa, and i put it in a XRS chassis. Very solid rifle!

Great purchase
308 heavy barrel 24" Love this thing. Howa makes a great product and brownells offers at a great price. Not the greatest weight for a carry around rifle but surely not the heaviest out there. Great for a bit of competition with friends.

Great buy
One of the best 308 actions you can get on a budget I can get 5 shot dime size groups with hand loads at 100 I've had it out to 800 ringing steel excited to push it further Quality Construction no excessive bolt slob everything operates as it should very easy to tear down the bolt and clean overall trigger is decent out of the box I put it in a krg bravo chassis just buy it

Really nice, barreled Action
Howa heavy barreled action, cannot wait to get it in a chassis. Very nice 24" heavy barreled .308
Amazing Experience
Howa 1500 .308 Barrel action. Amazing!
Providing .5 MOA at 100 using factory Match.
Now to find the perfect load to tighten it up!
Impressive Actuon
Great action. I purchased and bought a KRG Bravo chassis and 1913 Picatinny top rail. I mounted a 12x42 SWFA scope and I could not be happier for a 1k platform. Shot a 1 MOA group out of the box.
Howa barreled actions
They are the best, never disappointed.
My Howa 1500
One word amazing! Took it out to the range today and after sighting the scope in it was nothing but bull eyes and nice groupings. The bolt runs smooth as ice, the trigger is good also might tweak it later on. Over all I’m pleased with this barrels action. Mounted this in a MDT Oryx chassis with an MDT Elite muzzle break topped off with a Vortex Viper HST 6-24 x50 scope on a MDT 20 Moa pic rail. Waiting to get the MDT GRND POD bipod, using my old magpul bipod for now.
Great accuracy and quality from Howa
I put this together with a Hogue stock and Leupold scope, and it is a tack driver. I was lucky to get it at when it was on sale, but it would have been a good deal at full price. I highly recommend this if you are in the market for a custom-build that won't break the bank.
Howa 24” Heavy Barrel 308
Received my action last week. Shipped quickly. I ram a dry patch down the bore and then looked with a bore scope. I was disappointed with what I saw. Appeared to run in the grooves. I ran some patches with shooters choice and didn’t get the rust out. Had to resort to JB Bore paste. The barrel cleaned up nicely after that. Seems like Howa would use abetter preservative in the bore.
