HOWA 1500 308 WINCHESTER HEAVY VARMINT THREADED BARRELED ACTION

The Howa 1500 .308 Heavy Varmint 24" Barreled Action gives you a head start on building your own custom long-range rifle. It’s built around a forged steel short action (SA) receiver with a hammer-forged barrel with a # 6 bull / heavy contour. The one-piece, dual-lugged bolt has a precisely squared bolt face and dual lugs that make optimum contact with the receiver recesses. Comes with the barrel installed and headspaced. An easy-to-reach, three-position safety locks the bolt or can be set to allow the action to be unloaded while on safe. Inside the Howa 1500 .308 Heavy Varmint 24" barreled action is a light, two-stage HACT (Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger) trigger that delivers a consistent pull and a break that can be set from 2.5 to 3.8 lbs.

Howa’s 1500 .308 Heavy Varmint 24" barreled action comes complete and ready to drop into the stock you want. Don’t forget to choose a scope and the mounting hardware to install it.

Flat out AWESOME
I got the 20" heavy barrel, and i am very pleased with the performance. This barrel is slow to heat up, and ive only put about 50 rounds through it so far, but it absolutely lives up to the sub moa guarantee! This is my first howa, and i put it in a XRS chassis. Very solid rifle!

Can't go wrong
If you dive into things like I do and are on a budget like I am this is your lucky day. The barrel looks great. The action is fairly smooth and getting better as I shoot it. 60 rounds in and it is much improved. Bolted right in to a KRG Bravo and at 300 to 600 yds its an all day steel ringer. No need to buy a trigger either. With some basic skills its easily adjustable down to 1.5 lbs. Without any extra work it's adjustable to 2.5 lbs with the turn of a screw. And the second stage breaks great.
