Needed a take-down screw and this fits like OEM
I needed a take-down screw for my Ruger 10/22 for use in an after-market stock, and this fit like OEM. Couldn't ask for better.

NEEDED FOR ANY 10-22 TAKEDOWN
This Volquartsen screw is 4 threads shorter than the Ruger screw. This is needed for the 10-22 Takedown model. My wife and I have his-and-hers Takedowns. When the OEM Ruger screw is tightened, it presses against the adjustment wheel and prevents it from turning. This screw, being 4 threads shorter, eliminates that problem. It's the perfect solution. Note: it uses a smaller size Allen wrench than the OEM Ruger screw.

I’m 🤔 not sure?
Look at the photo I included. The two (2) longer screws are from factory 10/22 rifles. The two (2) shorter screws were purchased from Brownells, and arrived in Volquartsen packaging. The Volquartsen screws fit in my B-TM stock, my factory walnut stock, and my Magpul takedown backpack stock. They appear to fit and function. The screws do not fall out of the stock after being unthreaded from the receiver. I have to make a deliberate effort to remove the screws from whatever stock they’re attached to. Obviously it would seem that the longer screws are holding on to more threads, and perhaps that’s better? Does it matter? If the factory screws were available, I’d buy the factory screws, but I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

Originally rated this one star, changing that to 5 star.
I originally rated this 1 star as I couldn't make it fit in the Magpul Stock Ruger 10/22 MOE X-22 Stock Black. That stock appears to only work with the factory barrel and I was trying to fit a barrel with a 0.92 diameter. The barrel would not go down into the channel all the way which prevented the screw from engaging. I suspect that is the case with some of the ratings of one star for this item. So 5 stars now.

Replaces stock action screws . Good quality and easy to adjust.

Great option to make stock removal and reattachment easier and without the worry of the screwdriver damaging the wood of the stock. Much more positive engagement with the hex key instead of a slotted screw.

My 1st choice
This screw is one of the first things I use to replace the OEM screw. With several in use I haven't had a problem. Volquartsen is a premier aftermarket supplier with awesome customer service. It isn't unusual for the owner to answer the phone.
