Does not fit 10 22
I wish I'd read these reviews. These are too short and the shoulder stops the screw from going in. I wish I had read the reviews because I wouldn't have bought two for my two builds. Avoid this product and just get the Ruger screws.

Too short
Too short for my Magpul 10/22 stock. Can't recommend this item.

Why?
This is a 1/8" fastener. Before I put this on I needed a single tool to work on my rifle. Now I need two. That is a 100% increase in tools I need to have with me when I go to the range. There is no reason for this.

Terrible
Should have read the reviews. I don't understand how Volquartsen, a company that builds high end custom 10/22s, could market this. The only thing I can figure out is that it is made for a modified Volquartsen and won't work on a Ruger factory rifle. This screw is 3/16" shorter than the factory original, and the threads are different; it ruined the brass escutcheon threads in my 10/22 stock. Very disappointed.

Worthless. Can't use.
This is not designed as a captive screw, or if it is they did it wrong. It threads into the stock fine, but the rest of the shaft is too large to pass through the threads, so not only can it not be captured, but it won't go far enough to thread into the receiver.

Out of Spec Screw
I ordered 3 screws for 10-22 builds and stock gun updates, but was unable to use any of the screws on aftermarket stocks or Ruger stocks as the non-threaded section would not pass through the stock bushing to engage the receiver. Hex size is also 1/8" vs 5/32" of the barrel screws and other vendors take down screw.

Socket Head is stripped
As noted above it's shorter than the standard screw and with my advanced tactical stock I had to perhaps over-tighten it to get it to fit snugly. Just now the hex socket stripped while I was trying to remove it and now I've got a real mess on my hands, I'll have to try and carefully drill it out and remove it. I'm sorry I ever got this.

Too Short
Zero engagement with the barrel assembly. Factory screw works but this one is way shorter, and will not thread.

Not Quite the Real Thing
This screw is 1/8" shorter than the screw furnished by Ruger. And now (2014) that Ruger has standardized on a socket head screw you're better off with the real thing. After trying this one, I bought two from Ruger. They cost half as much as the VQ.

Too Short
Screw is shorter than stock - only 3 threads of engagement.
