IT DOES NOT MATCH MAGPUL FDE!!!!!?????
You would think that it would match but it doesn't not even close. I don't know why they're even selling this it's not even close and it is GLOSSY
COLOR isn't even close
Color dries as an magpul FDE color....It doesn't even nearly match the color that is on the cap.
Is SEMI-GLOSS not Matte!!
Bought a can of this, tried on two separate applications. Both times it resulted in a semi-gloss finish. I also tried a can of the Coyote color and that one did come out in a matte/dull finish. Brownells did send me a second can of FDE to try, but again resulted in a semi-gloss finish. If you want a dull/matte finish, don't buy this product!! Reviewed Dec '21.
When it works, its nice
3 of the 4 cans I bought stopped working mid-use. When they worked, I thought the product was great. I love the colors and finish, but I wasnt able to do all I wanted because the cans stopped spraying long before they were empty.
Don't Waste Your Money
The color is not even close to Magpul FDE. Mine looks like OD Green. Buy a different product if you want to match Magpul FDE. Quick cure is the only good feature.
More green then gray.
Brownells need to remove this product. Color has a green tint to it, not even close to dark gray. If you like the color I found it easy to use and cover well. I will be stripping product off, so I have no clue how it wears.
Dont recommend
Bought dark parkerizing gray to refinish m16a1 clone and sar-3 ak. Refinished sar-3 and allowed recommended curing time and the final color wasnt the dark gray as advertised but closer to ranger green. Also the paint felt soft, cheap, and flaked/chipped with assembly. Dont purchase this product.
Defective!
This is my second can. First was good, no problems at all. Second can was defective. I started spraying my project and almost immediately the can started shooting splotches, or big drips of paint. Thinking I hadnt shaken it enough, I re-shook and tried another part. Same problem, only this time the can clogged completely within seconds. I am now waiting for this can to be replaced (on back order), but I have plenty to keep me busy since I have to re-strip my project and start over. Brownells needs to have a serious talk with their paint supplier.
Not the color it's supposed to be!
I prepped the gun according to directions. I shook the can not once but multiple times! Room temperature was above 70 degrees. Cleared the nozzle for about 5 seconds. After application the dark grey was muted OD green! Multiple layers were applied after shaking the can vigorously for up to five minutes. Still OD green. Does not stick consistently! I will have to remove it and find another coloring method!
Not Pleased
Followed all directions and watched You tube videos. Very disappointed. Nozzle clogged very quickly and paint came out in spurts. Cleaned it 3 times and it did the same thing. This product ruined the UZI I was building. I have never been more disappointed in a product from Brownells. You should provide the correct nozzle to properly apply this product.
