Great Product
Followed prep procedures on the metal and wiped down with acetone before spraying. After spraying the receiver cover it hung it in a 195* oven for four hours. Let it cool and reassembled the rifle. It looks great, smooth finish and it coated evenly without much effort.

Rossi M33
I have a little Rossi 38special and I wanted to, I guess update it’s looks so I tried Brownells Aluma Hyde gun coating . It was very easy to apply, took longer to prep the weapon than it did to apply and well you can see how it turned out. It really looks really great. Have had a lot of compliments on it. I can honestly say it’s worth the money to try this product.

Aluma Hyde FDE…an excellent product…
After a disappointing result with the Aluma Hyde Desert Tan I used this FDE with a great result. To be honest…with the Desert Tan I’m not sure if it was the can of paint or my technique was at fault…I had used Aluma Hyde Dark Parkerizing and Matte Clear successfully but the Desert Tan simply didn’t give equal results.
The Magpul FDE was awesome…great coverage and looked wonderful when done and dried. Another fine Brownells product.
Durable paint, easy application and good colors.
I've been using aluma-hyde for awhile now. Have had zero issues. Magpul FDE is my favorite. Super easy.

Great finish
Yes, shake til the ball rattles and shake more. I also let the can stand for one minute so any air in the paint would “lift out”. Not sure that’s a thing but it works for automotive aerosol finishes. Less splatter on the finish.
It does NOT match the Aero Precision OD green but I just painted the upper and lower also. Cleaned my nozzle with lacquer thinner and compressed air. Used the blow out nozzle to flush out pick up tube. Painted one AR . Feels like half a can of paint left. Worth the money

Works well
Its not your typical spray paint, but if you follow the instructions and videos, it works great. A darker brown, and darker green would be nice.

Works great
Got this because the color of the gas block was different than the parkerizing on the rest of the gun. Sprayed the upper, barrel and lower. Looks brand new. Seems to be a tough coating

Works great on polymer!
Did both a Glock frame and a p80 frame both black to a flat dark Earth. This stuff hardens up great and the baking temperature is low enough whereas it won't distort your polymer that is critical if you need to get it too hot that Glock frame will melt. This stuff cures it around 6 hours at 105. Fully cures in a week. Fully matte finish looks very factory. You can't even distinguish the factory finish from the alumahide. The Glock slide turned out great as well and I get a lot of compliments. I use the strike industries red frame kit. It's got the red pins and it looks great.
