These holders are particularly beneficial for handling small, hard-to-grasp pins or those situated in tight spaces.

Available Sizes and Specifications:

The Roll Pin Holders are available individually or as a complete 5-piece set, accommodating various pin sizes commonly encountered in firearms:
  • #1 - 1/16" (1.6mm): Notched to clear M16/AR-15 rear sights, facilitating easier installation in these specific models.
  • #2 - 5/64" (2.0mm): Ideal for slightly larger pins, providing a secure hold during installation.
  • #3 - 3/32" (2.4mm): Suitable for medium-sized pins, ensuring precise alignment.
  • #4 - 1/8" (3.2mm): Designed for larger pins, maintaining stability during insertion.
  • #5 - 3.5mm (0.138"): Excellent for holding the pin that retains the breech block on Sig handguns.

Each holder is made from high-quality steel, ensuring durability and longevity. After the pin is properly started using the holder, it is recommended to finish driving it in with a roll pin punch for optimal results.

Roll Pin Holders
I use them all the time, but once in a while they break and need to be replaced.

Roll Pin Holder
This is a terrific tool for installing roll pins in AR lower receivers. It is perfect for the bolt catch roll pin. It will keep you from dinging the surface of your receiver. Unfortunate it is very brittle and has a tendency to break. That's why only 4 stars. I can get several builds before it breaks.

Great set of punches
I have had this set for more than 2 years, and have found it has made tons of jobs so much simpler. Perfect for replacing the small pin on the AR gas tube. I gave four stars because i wish there were a few more sizes. These have definately helped me be more eficient in my Small Arms Shop. Thanks

Don't Build Without
This a great tool for starting the roll pin when building an AR. This size is probably the most versatile. I started with it and then and I bought the whole set. However, I will have to buy another size #3 because it broke at the tip. So, I would suggest buying multiple #3s, if you do a lot of builds. They are not cheap and not super sturdy, but necessary and cuts down on build mistakes.

Cracked easily
The metal used on this is brittle and can break easily. Used just once in installing a roll pin on a Beretta AL391 carrier and it cracked. I was just trying to start the pin, didn't think I overdid it with force. I called Brownells and they have a 100% replacement policy on broken tools. They will be sending out another one. Thank you Brownells

couldn't use it
Wasn't able to use it because roll pins fit very tightly, and wouldn't come out after starting into hole. That is, roll pins stuck in the holder and had to be pulled out with pliers. Eventually placed pin without it, a process that required 3 hands. May be able to lap the pin holder so that it'll turn loose.

Broke during first use.
I am not especially pleased with this roll pin holder. I used it one time on an AR build and the holder broke. A great idea but perhaps the metal in my holder was too soft.

Broke on first use
The S3 holder broke on the very first usage. Sent a message to Brownells and never got a response.

Not good
I used the smallest holder for a roll pin on a ambidex. selector switch. The roll pin went all the way into the shaft of the holder. Never bottomed out. Now, I have lost the roll pin, and the holder is useless too. What kind of engineer made the hole over 1/4" deep for the smallest roll pin?
