disappointed, …….seems soft, as in butter soft metal.
I used the 120-1 small bit and it twisted on the first screw I used it on. I think this may have missed some kind of hardening step. It deformed with moderate pressure and shocked me. Butter soft bit. I will check with customer service after the holiday weekend.
I have the larger Magna Tip set and never once had a bit deform. Either something has changed or this one bit missed a step.
A total mystery
Im with av8er, the bit selection is almost useless on my revolvers. Im notnusing these loose fitting bits in the screws on any of my s&w revolvers because they do not fit. Why did I buy a "S&W" kit if the included bits are sloppy? Dont get me wrong the quality is outstanding but they dont fit.
Poor quality control
I have no clue as to how this screwdriver could have passed inspection other than to believe there wasn't any. I'm embarrassed for Brownells that they chose to put their name on this product. The shaft is canted so badly into the handle it makes the tool useless. Not bent (like it was damaged in shipping or something) but clearly manufactured that way. For what the product costs this is completely unacceptable. Save your money. Just buy the bits or look elsewhere altogether.
Tips are too thin for my J frame.
This set of bits are good quality, but were useless for the side plate and crane screws on a 1999 640-1and a 2016 340 M&P. The tip thickness of the 150-3 included in the set is too thin to properly fit the screw notches.
Not up to Brownells usual quality
On the very first screw, a side plate screw, the screwdriver tip bent and buggered up the screw head. Very dissappointed!
