Poor quality
The bottle and the cap with needle are two different threads. Because the bottle and cap are different threads, the cap will not seal and instantly miss threads the first time its used.
Waste of money. Do not buy. Here is why.
The cap is not threaded the same as the bottle. No matter what, the cap threads on crooked on all three bottles that came in the kit. There is a rubber washer under the cap that will not seal because of this. This causes a leak and a mess anywhere you put the oil bottle.
Problem with needle oiler bottles
When they got here the caps (containing the needle) were fully screwed ON. When I took one off and filled it with oil, I absolutely could not get the cap back on straight. Then I tried the other two, same problem: caps refused to go on straight. I emptied-out the oil and sent them back. Have not heard from Brownells yet.
Don't look so good.
Two of the three bottle caps are cross threaded. The plastic threads damaged there is no way these two lids will seal when attached. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.. .. ..
5 star product 1 star washer
The rubber washer turns oils yellow. The attached pictures show a test using clear, liquid coconut oil in tho oiler, on the washer that comes in this oiler, and on a neoprene rubber washer I bought from the hardware store. This is one week later. The yellowing occurs from day one and intensifies. The original washer absorbed the oil on its surface in a day. The neoprene kept oil on its surface for five days before absorbing it.
I use my oils for everything. Wood, leathers, guns, cars, bicycles, electronics... I don't want this stuff on any of that.
Getting replacement washers is a waste of time and money.
Everything else about this bottle is 5 stars. Stopper, nozzle, bottle. Never had a leak, bend, or snap. Never had a problem threading; just make sure it's aligned and push down while tightening to maintain alignment. Made in USA, can't beat that.
These do not work properly
I'm actually in the process of returning these bottles. None of the tops fit properly, will not screw on straight. Thus they leak like a sieve. I've purchased these in the past and not had any problems. Don't know if this is just a bad batch or what.
Won't Fit together properly!
Been using these for years. Caps and stems look great. Plastic bottles are junk. Threads are all crooked. Couldn't get any one of the three to fit together straight, therefore, leaks like a sieve. Will not buy these again...pure waste of money.
DON'T BUY THIS; IT'S CHANGED!
I've used these for years, and I've been very happy with them, so I ordered six more. The bottles are the same as my old ones, but the caps are different and they don't fit together! The old caps were made of the same polymer as the bottles and are perfect! The new caps are made of metal. The problem is, the female thread on the cap and the male thread on the bottle are not the same and they don't screw together. Therefore they don't seal together! They leak like a sieve, so they are useless! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!
