Kroil is Great !
I use it on every rusted part I want to get loose, from salt water rusted 870 stock nuts, underground water pipes that have been buryed for 60 years, gun cleaning, this prodcut is unbeliveable. There is nothing I don't like about it !
Kroil Rocks
Best cleaning/penetrating/solvent ever! Its lubricative properties are a little lacking, but it works for anything else. It's the best thing ever to clean a nasty old .22 up.
Magic Oil
Absolutely the best penetrating oil made. When they say "It Creeps" I know what they mean. When you have a stubborn (Mauser) barrel that doesn't want to come out don't risk springing an action. Just pour a few drops of Kroil on the action/barrel junction and on the rear of the barrel (at torque ring) and let it set overnight. Next morning it will pop out of there like magic. I started cleaning the bore of my rifles with it in competition. I use Kroil and a brush then let it soak a few minutes, swab it out and follow up with J-B bore paste. Works for me! You can't argue with the trophies it wins!
Best penetrating oil ever!
I use Kroil with J-B bore paste to remove years of fouling. I have a collector grade M1 Garand that refused to group better that 3-4 in. @100yds. Since I got it ten years ago I could see copper fouling from looking in the muzzle. I tried every foul smelling concoction on the market figuring it had to stink to work. I finally decided to try a Kroil soaked patch covered with the bore paste. It took several sessions but I finally saw that 50 year old copper disappearing from the grooves. The Garand now shoots great enough that I placed second in the last two Garand matches at our club. It also loosens rusted screws and nuts like nothing else. Everyone who has seen it work wants to know where to get it.
Works as advertised
I used the Kroil Oil with the J-B Embedded Bore Cleaning Compound and VGF felt pellets as shown in the Brownells' videos. The bore is bright and shiny.

Works? Yes. Stinks? Heck yes!!!
It's a good enough oil, but it STINKS, literally. I've closed up my can of Kroil and instead use another manufacturer of standard gun oil that has teflon flakes floating it.
