Perfect Bed!
Used this to bed my Remington 700 BDL in a new stock. Absolutely fantastic product! No run at all, didn't shrink a bit and provides excellent and smooth contact with the whole action. It was a little hard to get out because it fit so tight but that's a problem I'm okay with as the accuracy has improved ten fold. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. This stuff is simple and flawless. It's dirt cheap considering the accuracy improvement. If you are curious about it, just buy it and bed an action, you won't regret it. Also it works as a bonding agent for EVERYTHING.

There is no better product out there for its intended use. Most of your time should be spent masking the trigger and "guts", and use at least two, preferably three release agent coats to the tape if you've taped the trigger guts. Make sure you have an even taper so that things can be eased out.You can use modeling clay instead of tape. It works great, but use release agent, too. All threads should be run in and out with motor oil before you tape the hole over. The pressure can sometimes push the tape into the hole. I've used this product for nearly 40 years. You will get to the point where you can almost exactly estimate how much product to mound into the barrel channel so that when you press the barrel in there will be no bubbles or cavities. Use your finger to press the base coat of Acra-Glas in the barrel channel and receiver area. It bonds best if the wood is "wetted" with the Acra-Glas. And by "mound", I mean just that. Doing it that way you will roll the excess out. You have taped the top of the forearm so that when the excess rolls out, you can remove most of it after it gets rubbery in about an hour. Use a dull putty knife to press into the side of the excess until you contact the barrel. Go slow. Don't pull too fast or you will pull the epoxy out of the barrel channel, leaving an unsightly gap. Slow but sure wins this race.
Good Stuff
I bedded a 10-22 into a custom stock that I had already put a pillar in. I Loved the consistancy, it was like RTV silicon and gave me 25 min of working time at that consistancy. 10 hours later it was hard as a rock and no shrink noticeable. The release agent pealed off like an old snake skin.
A few bucks saves a pretty gun
My son ran into a old Husky in .270 Win., he was able to get for a song. When he brought it to me the stock was repaired by it was not a good job. I took it; a few months later and pulled it apart. It was a toss up as to getting rid of the stock or trying to repair it. Boy, I am glad I repaired it with Acraglas Gel. It was made of light colored walnut and cracked from the recoil lug area to about 3 in. into the pistol grip.I took 2 brass threded pins and install them in the recoil areas of the stock coated with Acraglas gel. Then to the inside of the stock. There was a divit of wood missing from behind the recoil lug and a crack going back into the pistol grip. I opened up the crack a bit so the gel would get in there.Then glassed the action. What a wonderfull looking gun after the stock was refinished. And what a shooter. This gun was made from 1947-1952 ; all I can say is thanks Brownells for a wonderfull product that saved a classic rifle.
There is no better bedding anywhere!
I've fabricated many epoxy and composite components, including airplane parts, and this Acraglas Gel kit is the best stuff for a bedding job. I'm sure it would work for a number of repairs too. It's possible to find other epoxy materials that, like Acraglas Gel, won't sag and run but you probably won't save any money over this kit. Plus, the kit comes with excellent guidance in the well-written instructions and nearly all the materials you'll need are in the kit. I had a M70 Winlite with a terrible factory bedding job around the recoil lug. I don't think it was manufactured with the "hot glue" that you sometimes hear about in post-64 M70s but it was probably nearly as bad. I setup the stock on my vertical mill and carefully removed the old bedding and nothing more and then followed the instructions in the kit. Everything worked smooth as silk!

Great Kit!!
I used it to glass bed a rifle for a friend. I also used the acraglass when using the Stock Repair Pin kit. It was the first time I had ever done it, and the instructions and components were all exactly what I needed to get the job done. The instructions (including cautions) were PERFECT, and it gave me great confidence to know that I had everything I needed in a single kit.
Glock grip reduction
I used this to reduce the grip on a G23 2nd Generation. The instructions were easy to follow. I actually took a little too much off the "hump" and was able to build it back up by adding more acraglass. I wasn't able to restipple after the first reduction (dried epoxy doesn't melt). After adding to the hump, I kept an eye on the epoxy as it dried and when it became firm but not dried, I was able to add the stipling in then. The included black dye made the final product shiny, not dull, and I'm wondering if using a flat black paint may make it more dull. That was my only complaint (actually didn't make a difference to me) about the product.
Keep this on hand at all times
I use this product exclusively for my bedding needs, including adjustable cheek pieces. It is the perfect material to secure slip on barrel extentions (bloop tube) and sight bases. You can also remove these tubes with a heat gun and reuse them. The included dye will allow matching the stock or complementing it well.
I'll be using more of this product
I used Acraglas Gel for the first time last week on a new rifle that I was glass bedding. It's easy to measure, and the paste-like consistency of the gel makes it stay where you put it. It won't run out of the stock. It squeezes into the recesses like it should. I wish they had invented this stuff years ago.
