BROKEN SHELL EXTRACTOR

BROKEN SHELL EXTRACTOR Reviews & Ratings

BROKEN SHELL EXTRACTOR

Case head separation from over-fired or out of spec brass won’t ruin your shooting experience if you keep one of these handy tools in your pocket or field kit. Hardened, steel tool reliably and easily removes broken cases from AR-type or any other firearm chambered for the .223/5.56 NATO or .308/7.62 NATO cartridges. Exclusive, threaded, two-piece design is adjustable for overall length, so the tool completely engages the rim of the case mouth; cannot slip through or strip out. Very simple to use, drop the broken shell extractor into the chamber directly inside the broken case. Allow the bolt to close so the extractor engages the rim of the tool and draw back the bolt to open the chamber. The broken case will eject along with the broken shell extractor.

A MUST FOR AR-15 SHOOTERS
IF YOU BREAK THE BACK OFF A SHELL IN YOUR GUN YOUR IN TROUBLE. DONT TRY AND PUSH IT OUT WITH A CLEANING ROD, YOU COULD SCRATCH THE BORE. USE ONE OF THESE EXTRACTORS, JUST PUT IT IN THE RECEIVER LIKE YOU WOULD A LOADED ROUND AND EJECT THE BROKEN CASE. EVERY AR SHOOTER SHOULD HAVE ONE IN THERE KIT.

Broken Steel Case in AR-15
I purchased this tool to remove a steel case that was broken and stuck in the chamber of an AR-15. I read and followed the instructions that were included with the tool. Unfortunately, the tool fails to hold onto the mouth of the case long enough to extract the case. I spread the end of the tool evenly to the maximum diameter that would fit down the bore. The tip of the tool ends up compressing and sliding out the back of the case. I want to like this tool, but I guess it isn't going to work for this application. I will keep it on hand in case I ever have this issue with a brass case.

It doesn’t work.
It doesn’t work in a 308 chamber. Over 20 years building target, hunting, and tactical bolt action rifles and this product doesn’t work.

Not strong enough
I had the rear .560 rip off of a case in the chamber of my AR. I tried using it as instructed but the tool would just shove all the way into the chamber and wouldnt seat in the bolt face. I then hooked the rim of the tool in the extractor and seated it in the bolt by hand and let the bolt go forward. The tool did go through the case and catch on the neck but after some force, the teeth slipped before the case came out. This happened several times and still no progress. If your case is really stuck in there, this wont help you. Two thumbs down on this thing

failed to remove case.
Well made. The shell in my rifle was stuck too tightly and the tool did not remove it. I removed the stuck case using Cerrosafe. I wish I would have tried the Cerrosafe method first and saved myself the money I wasted on the tool.

Waste of time
I bought this to try and remove a broken shell from an ar-15 barrel. No matter how I adjusted it or anything the extractor would always seat itself in the chamber where the gun extractor would not grab it.
