Good Stuff

Works well but has its limitations. I've used it on aluminum and parkerized steel to restore the finish. Had problems with some anodized products. Assume that's the nature of the process. Also difficult on corners. Blackens steel. Follow directions. Make sure to rinse with water; don't let it dry on the metal; apply a lube afterward. Use cotton swabs for small jobs.

not one of there better products

Product does not seem to "get into the aluminum" . After completion and 24+ hours it will rub off without much effort. Would probably work for minor touch up but did not work for larger areas. I was surprised due to the other products from Birchwood Casey that work great.

Not worht the money or effort

Followed directions to the letter. Tried on two different aluminum items. Did not stick on the material. Only got for blackeing something that you never plan to touch. Black will come off by rubbing finger even after sitting for 24 hours

Didnt work as advertised

Bought it to touch up an aluminum framed pistol and it had absolutly no effect what so ever. didnt even darken bright bare areas. A frustrating waste of time and money.

Worst ever

Attempted to blacken clean virgin Aluminum,uneven blotchy and could be rubbed off smooth surfaces with your finger. Save your money!

What aluminum?

I have yet to find an aluminum that this will work on. I have attempted to use it on barrel shrouds, floorplates, sights, and trigger guards, and have not yet had a good finish. The finish will either look terrible and be mottled, or it will rub off.

will not work on gun frames

I tryed useing this product on a gun frame. it did not work at all. this product may work very well on soft Aluminum. but on hardend Aluminum do not wast your money.
