VERTICAL RETICLE INSTRUMENT

VERTICAL RETICLE INSTRUMENT Reviews & Ratings

Adjustable, self-aligning V-blocks with integral spirit level makes zeroing your scope faster and far more accurate. Enhances final scope accuracy by squaring the crosshairs to the bore. Even a slight cant of the crosshairs can reduce overall accuracy, change point of impact and increase the likelihood of missed 'bulls' or wounded game. SPECS: Aluminum, anodized finish, black. 5-1/2' (14cm) long,
2' (5cm) wide. Includes complete instructions.

Best scope leveling product...
I have mounted numerous rifle scopes and this is the best device for leveling the cross hairs I have found. Actually, it's used to level the rifle and scope, and then plumb the vertical reticle of the scope.

Quickly establishes vertical cross hair
So simple, anyone can get great results - no more canted scopes period. Built like a bank vault.

Effective
This tool works great and is easy to use but the contact points will scratch up the surface of your barrel and scope. I use brownells 10 mil tape to cover the areas of the tool that touch them. Would be a 5 star review otherwise.

Better than expected
Pros: Easy to use and very accurate when using a plumb bob in combination with it. Very fast, accurate method of aligning a scope. Letting the plum bob settle takes the most time. Cons: Everytime you move the scope you have to readjust the tool to ensure that you have all 4 points of contact on the blocks (instructions tell you that this is critical). Its really not a con it just takes understanding. Summary: This thing rocks. This has become my preferred method of aligning a scope.

Great product
This is an excellent device. It takes all the guesswork out of mounting a scope. Will be checking my other rifles for scope alignment and canting. I would have given it a five rating, but I don't think it will work on rifles with fixed ramp sight, but I will find out.

Works....sort of
Requires some fiddling for good results. Tried on a couple rifles then trashed it.
1
Sloppy machining on bottom "V" part
The tool would have worked as described, but the machining on the "V" portion of the vertical part of the tool that I received is not exactly the same on each side. When mounted as I received it, it canted to one direction thus not giving me a true bore-barrel-scope tube alignment.
