Trit goes all the way through!
Had one put on my 870 without seeing it and was shocked to find that the trit vial shows to the front also. Although it does glow a lot weaker on the muzzle side and can be covered with a Sharpie marker to stop forward illumination. Dot is plenty bright and white ring is nice in daylight. Can't beat it for the price and it does not require epoxy like the XS sights.
Dot's to small
First this is a quality product. It is well made and installation was easy. I installed this on a short barreled Mossberg Maverick. My only complaint is that the tritium insert and the white dot around it are to small. In a very dark room the tritium does show up but is dim. In low light it is hard to see. Facing bright light the white circle surrounding the tritium washes out and you are left with a solid black post. I bought this product due to ease of installation but if I did it again I would pick a sight with a bigger dot or go with a fiber optic.
Broke Off on Install on Mossberg 590
Got the brass bead on the Mossberg 590 Shockwave removed with no problems. Treaded in the Marbles replacement sight, got it about 1/2 way on and it snapped off. Very limited pressure applied. Now I have to try to get the piece out of the threads and try to replace it with another sight. $30 down the tube.
Blue Line BL-18 Rem Clone
Warning, the 6x48 thread version of this front sight would not fit my new BL-18 Rem Clone shotgun. The sight itself looks perfect and the 1 star is just to get your attention. I assumed a Rem Clone would have the same thread pitch as a Remington screw is bead sight. I'm hoping once I confirm the thread pitch, Brownells could exchange for correct part.
Must be old stock - VERY DIM!
There are some very old reviews for these sights. My guess is they are old stock and that's why they are dim. Pretty much useless even in a dark room. This is for 3x56 thread unit specifically.
