Works Good
Pretty good set
Good bits; fit but not perfectly
Bits are good quality and usable but I had to take my time: Used to remove sideplate - not a perfect fit for the screws but ok. Not unexpected, realistically its only 4 bits that apparently were chosen to be usable, if not a perfect fit, on a wide variety of S&W revolvers. I may get a bigger set of bits later.
Finally found the perfect screwdriver se
I have been looking everywhere for the correct size screwdrivers for my S&W .38 special. I ordered many sets through other suppliers and had to return them. Smith & Wesson recommended Brownells. When I called Brownells customer service they knew immediately what I needed. It was easy to order and I received the order quickly. Cant beat that customer service anywhere.
Perfect for my 460
I already own a cheap Wheeler's kit but none of the bits fit any of the screws on the side plate of my 460. I want to eventually get it bead blasted to a satin finish and this screwdriver set will allow me to disassemble the gun before I drop it off. I love the fact the bits store in the handle.
Excellent Product
Purchased this set for my S&W 460 and 500. The smallest bit seems to have no real use for my S&W X-frames, the other bits are excellent for the side plate and cylinder release screws. The larger bit is good for the grip screw but somewhat undersized. Overall an excellent product!
VERY NICE!
These Brownell bits are superbly crafted and fit all my S&W revolvers, from J-Frames to N-Frames. Plus, they fit many slotted fasteners on my rifles too. I'm so impressed, I'm going to order a complete Brownell's bit set.
The Best
The only Screwdrivers and bits I use to work on Guns.
Good set for S&W mod 27 Classic
I needed to replace the rear sight front tang screw on my new S&W Mod 27 classic with a longer one. The factory screw is too short and doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the fully drilled hole, leaving a small pocket. Being so close to the forcing cone, a round mark is left on the cylinder from the hot gasses. The fix is a longer screw provided by S &W which goes all the way to the bottom and fills the void. This set had the right bit for the job and didn't leave any marks on the screw heads. Just wish that Brownell's offered a different handle with this kit. I would have preferred a shorter one for more control.
