Rock solid and smooth charging handle
You might be asking yourself why you would think about replacing a charging handle. You might also be asking if the Geissele is worth the money. Well, if you want an ambidextrous charging handle, then you'll have to replace the standard one. And if you want the best replacement, think Geissele. It feels smooth and solid, and it's easy to operate. It's shaped a bit differently than standard handles, so that must explain why it slides more smoothly. It's not for everyone. If you can afford it, go ahead and get it.
USASOC URGI Charging Handle
What Geiselle ships with their complete URGI USASOC uppers, so had to have it on my upper 100026694 that I bought. Works great, looks great, smooth, good finish and materials. Can spend more or less, but this one works good.
Top notch
The only negative is the price. Overall, this charging handle is top of the line. Like everything Geissele makes, it is high quality, solid, and functional. If you want the best, and can afford the best, this is the one for you. It is smooth, ambidextrous, and doesn't stick out too far on the sides.
Good Design & Well Made
It is a little more expensive than some, however as a left handed shooter I need a good ambi charging handle. This CH has excellent fit & finish and the design is easy to use one handed. This model is also just long enough to clear the forward assist button when grasped by the right hand. Overall, well designed and produced.
Best Charging Handle Ever!
As a left-handed shooter I originally learned to run an AR platform rifle with a non-ambi stock charging handle. As soon as I found how useful an ambidextrous charging handle can be I will always have one. This charging handle is a little spendy, but I think it is well worth the price. It clears the forward assist button on the right side of the rifle just enough to allow easy manipulation, yet doesnt stick out too far. Additionally, Geissele has found the correct angles and gripping texture for perfect gripping. Definitely recommended!!
WOW
Decided to give this a try thanks to InRangeTV's WWSD project. I wasn't sure it could live up to the hype, but once I installed it I could only say "WOW!" Everything about its operation is extremely smooth.
You Will Want More
I tried one to see how well it performed and now all my BCM Gunfighters will be finding new homes. I initially tried one to see its performance with a suppressor with its extended back lip. It did well, but its smooth pull makes it a better tuned machine. Its built like a tank and finish is superior.
Excellent Hardware
This charging handle is like every other product that Geissele manufactures. Material appears to be of the highest quality, finish is excellent. The raised lip on the charging handle helps seal against gas blow back when shooting suppressed. The ambi nature of it allows for running off hand drills. I've been an AXTS Raptor guy for a while now and I'll be going to Geissele from here on out. Both are excellent products but the Geissele nudges the Raptor out by helping reduce gas blow back.
Is it supposed to be two tone?
What an awesome feeling charging handle, ddc super is the best Ive used and will buy another. However, after looking at it closer , the ambi pieces on either side appear to be of a different batch, as the finish is off. I only bring it up because every other product from giessele has been flawless so this left me scratching my head. But it is still a nice feeling and functioning piece.
Excellent/pricey
Installed it, and took it out to my range. Loaded a few live rounds and a dummy round several times into several magazines. On the "click" I performed "tap, rack, bang" drills to clear the bad rounds. Never missed the charging handle, and Never failed to clear the problem. Handle cycled with no resistance (other than buffer spring tension), Fit and finish are excellent. However, with complete uppers going for a little over twice the price for this changing handle alone I feel it should be on sale for less. I'm always willing to pay for premium parts in my defensive tools. Buy markets fluctuate and costs should reflect current market values. I would buy again, and probably will. It is however still just three pieces of anodized aluminum roll pinned together. The price is a bit high given the current market, and pricing.
