roll pin holders
These are great for starting roll pins. I used a couple today and it made the job of starting roll pins simple. I can't yet speak for durability, as I haven't used them for a long time nor abused them, but I'm glad I bought them.
Wish I had gotten these sooner!
These are high quality tools that make installation of roll pins much more simple. I was hesitant to buy these because they are fairly expensive but I now realize that good tools make any job easier and I am glad I made this purchase. Great for starting roll pins!
Great quality, and awesome customer serv
I'm an armourer, building and fixing AR's year round. I decided to buy my own set, but one broke the first time I used it. I waited a couple of days to collect my thoughts on how I was going to word my email to customer service. I didn't need to, I told them it broke and two days later I get a return email apologizing for the tool failure and a tracking number of a new one in the mail at no cost. Some items may be more expensive, but I no longer care, Brownell's has a life long customer in me now!
Great tools for all gun work w/roll pins
These are terrific for building or repairing guns, whether an AR or a SIG pistol. Saves having to have a third hand grafted on my arm! The possible limitation (as one buyer found out) is that these are intended for "starting" the pins, and not for completely driving them in. While I've not had any problems, I can see where attempting to drive them completely in with these holders may break the holder, since A) they weren't designed to do that, and B) the "sleeve" of the holder isn't as robust as the punch and handle parts, nor does it need to be. These are perfect for their intended use, and the fellow who broke one might want to consider that Brownell's has another "holder" type punch which is (simply put) a steel rod with the specific diamter hole in the end, to the depth of 1/4" or so, which can be used to drive the pin further. Another excellent Brownell's tool which, when used properly, not only does the job but fills a niche for those who do a lot of gunsmithing or a little gunsmithing, but want the tools to do the job right and just as the pros do.

Must have tool for gun work
i finished my first AR build this past week and i must say these roll pin holders (although i only used a couple) are a must have tool for your toolbox! i assembled my AR and didnt put a single scratch on the entire build! they worked fantastic! the knurled handles are easy to grip and the roll pin sinks inside the tube about 3/16" and is held firmly. i was going to turn around and sell them after i completed this rifle as i doubt i will build another gun but no way are these gems leaving my work bench, ever!

Easiest way to assemble a rifle/ handgun. Makes starting roll pins a lot easier, which in turn, makes my day easier.
My new favorite AR-15 assembly tools
I just got these for my tool box, and used them on a friend's AR-15 lower build. With these and proper roll pin punches, there's no chance of scratching anything. These things are great.

Like a second pair of hands
I've used all of the roll pin holders and the 1/16th size is a lifesaver. Installing tiny gas tube roll pins is so much easier now. The holders help with alignment and starting roll pins, then you can switch to a regular or roll pin punch to finish it off.
