H&R, Taurus, and even a very very rare S&W 9 shot .22 LR, and this loader fits them all. The top break H&Rs automatically eject the spent casings, so a reload with these is very quick indeed. The Taurus requires a trigger and action job, but Taurus is a very cheap gun to fine tune, compared to Colt. H&R is what I lovingly refer to as the old WORKING MAN'S GUN, as they were very affordable, and today Taurus is what a working man would buy. 9 shot .22s are good enough for self defense, pest control, small game, and plinking.

have used these in the past and upon getting my new GP100 i knew where and what to get for speed loaders. these are easy to load, hold ammo in place without them annoying being loose. would tell others to buy HKS and from Brownells. shipping was also fast.

Three years down the line, I still like these reloaders enough to continue giving them five stars. But... I have to admit that my allegiance has shifted over to the Safariland model. Yes, the Safariland's are more difficult to load with bullets, but the release is better when the shooting is. Regardless, the HKS is still a great product and I wouldn't work too hard to talk somebody out of buying one. Plus, I bought my first HKS nearly 20 years ago and it is still working as well as the day it was new; I haven't had my Safarilands for nearly as long so I can't attest to their durability, but I suspect that in the (very) long run these HKS' will last longer and possibly be more reliable in rough environments due to the fact that they're built like tanks.

Sturdy, always work well
I carry a model 36 off-duty. It is resilient and hardy. The HKS speedloaders I carry in my pocktets match the reliability of the Chief's Special 36. It fits the cylinder perfectly, which is not surprising as the HKS model is 36-A. Not as easy for my SP-101. For self-defense, I prefer HKS. As someone wrote for another model here on Brownell's, Safariland's are great and fast for competition, but HKS is better for daily carry.

bought one for my Ruger LCR w/laser grips. the loader fits and the ammo will drop in. now that i know it works i will order a few more.
My favorite speedloader
I've tried quite a few speedloaders, and I actually prefer these over others. They may be a touch slower than the push button types, but I've found these to be more robust and a lot easier to fill with bullets. As far as the speed of the reload goes, I developed a technique where I "overturn" the knob and use the momentum to toss the empty reloader aside while closing the cylinder all in one motion. Gotta find on the ground afterwards, but it's fast!
