Works well. Gets carbon out of rifling.
Worked well getting the carbon out of the rifling. I used it after cleaning with KG-12. I too, am picky about cleaning. The only downside is that it takes 6 to 8 soaked patches, then 4 dry patches to dry it out. I clean while at the range too. I like the small bottles. A clean barrel makes a difference on target. This really helps with load development.

Just OK
It is a water based product, I had carbon build up on the inside of a muzzle brake and the KG1 didn't do much, hit it with a brass brush to see results, slowly. Love the KG-12 copper remover so threw some of it on the carbon and it took it off. Applied KG-1 carbon remover down the bore until patches came out clean, then using the KG-12 copper remover the patches came out with more carbon, so KG-12 removes both and does it faster.

Meh
Hoppes #9 is still the best value and cleaner. This product is over priced and nothing to write home about

OK, but nothing great
I bought a couple bottles of this stuff from Brownells, thought I would try it because I already LOVE KG-12 for copper removal. Today I tried it out on my Rock River Arms NM AR-15. After shooting twenty Hornady 75 grain BTHP match ammo out of my RRA AR, I followed up by cleaning the carbon out of the barrel this stuff. I was not all that impressed. First, it has this strange smell to it I did not care for. Next, it did not seem to remove the carbon very easily or very fast as advertised. It took a lot of passes to get the black out. I think once I am done with this stuff, I will find some other carbon remover. However, I will stick with KG-12 for copper, that stuff is just plain awesome.

does nothing for carbon ring
This might work ok for removing carbon from the bore, but most cleaners that I use do well with that. I bought this because I have few barrels that have a light carbon ring that I want to completely remove. This product does nothing to remove carbon in that location.
